EXCELLENT!!! She's a big girl now! I'm so happy for you both!
  2. I, personally would wait...but that's just me I'm unsure of its safeness etc... Other will know I'm sure.
  3. It does look like they are growing back... Hopefully they do and she can fly until her hearts content! Good luck and please keep us updated
  4. Looking good Dave. You have a good eye for great birds!
  5. mmm, I don't know mate... Elly and the others who are better at taming might have a few suggestions. Good luck!
  6. Oh Andrew ... Sometimes they talk away and stop when you listen too... Do you look at him when you are talking to him? Maybe his is shy to 'talk' around you??? Try doing another task near him... computer, chores etc... and talk to him but not actually look at him. You could also record your self talking as you would to him, and play it back to him when you're out.

Hugs on your loss. Your poor hen. I'm glad you found a great Avian vet though. Good luck on your search for a new hen.
  9. I'm in two minds... I agree the cream would make it look much bigger, but a darker colour wouldn't show up as much dirt and dust.

I would say yes... 1/2" is recommended, which is 1.2cm. I'd be worried they'd get their head stuck when I was not home! Pet shops do have a tendancy to try and sell they stock they have!!!
  11. Brilliant job!!! Looks fantastic
  12. Awwwwwwwwww Thanks Jenene
  13. Awwww... looks very much like LIV's Bumble (because of colour)
  14. Firstly, I'd remove the mirror. She will bond with it instead of you The fruit and veggies is a slow process, just give her a little at a time... try different methods too, dicing, grating, poking through bars... some birds like their veggies served differently. My aviary birds love corn on the cob, my inside birds don't know what to do with it . Also, with her sitting on you and getting used to you... she will get there. Elly has an excellent taming piece in the FAQ's that might help you... again, it takes time and patience.
  15. Agree with Liv... The white tape you use to strap 'people' injuries.

Sounds good... can we see it???? If you don't want to use the open top, just use black cable ties to shut it permanently

  18. Sweet as ever Deb  Thanks xo
  19. Thanks Elly Might just have to do that!
  20.   Oh Neat!!! Aren't everyone's 'girls' their life?!?!?!?!
  21. TOTALLY AGREE!!!
  22. I'm trying to picture it from when I was there... mmm, I think terricotta would be nice... I hate introducing too many colors as it looks messy, but with the roof and driveway edge that colour, I think it would look nice and be a good contrast with the cream/blonde of the bricks and black of the trimming.
  23. Thanks everyone. My girls are my life (along with my reptilian boys). They're about 4 1/2 months old now and going through their first moult. It's great to spend time with them and watch them play.
  24. looking forward to it. Just remember, no matter how busy you are... always make time for yourself!
  25. I was wondering where you were... I know you're busy, BUT what??? No photos???????????????? ... especailly your Major Mitchell! Glad things are going well with them mate xo
