Dad And His Chicks
They are looking great Any baby/s you want to keep as your tame pet, all you have to do is hold them a few times a day - This will make them tame. Baby budgies are only flighty if they are not used to humans. I look forward to pictures of the other two

His Poo's Are Green
Green poop is okay, if it is a normal consistency. Budgie poop when wet will look green, then as it dries it will go black If it is a little black ring with a white dot in the middle when dry, then the poop is normal

My Birds
They are all lovely! Thanks for the update I love Razzle! What a beauty ps. if you haven't already, i think your ropes are due for a trim. The loose cotton is dangerous - they can get tangled in it and strangle etc. loose threads need to be less than an inch.

Getting Them Interested In Eachother
Thanks Norm, I took the photo today especially for this question I have had BG for about 4 years and up until this summer he had not shown interest in any bird. This summer he bonded with a little hen (and fathered 3 chicks, i think - colony breeding ) . Since i took out the nest boxes he has bonded with Barney Fingers crossed when his lover boy is out of sight, he will become keen on Lady easily and have LOTS of babies hehe

Getting Them Interested In Eachother
I am after nice birds that look better than their parents because they are both spangle, dose that mean their chicks will all be double factor spangles??? Lady was a fluke find at my local bird dealer

Converting Small Aviary Into Breeding Cabinets
I have this little aviary which is empty and doing nothing and i am considdering converting it into 2 breeding cabinets.... I am after some advice on if it would work and the best way to do it Here is the aviary It is 90cm deep, 100cm high and 120cm long. Here are 2 floor plans I drew up (nb = nestbox) In this first plan the safty area would be 45 cm wide by 60cm long - good thing I am little because it's just big enough for me to squeeze into hehe Breeding cage 1 would be 45cm wide and 90cm long by 100cm high Breeding cage 2 would be L shaped with 30cm at the narrow end and 60cm at the wide end. 90cm long and 100cm high. In this plan the safty area is a more comfortable 90cm long by 60cm wide - i will be able to sit, rather than squat haha but this is not about my comfort here Breeding cage 1 and 2 will both be 45cm wide, by 60cm long and 100cm high I am open to any surgestions/changes/critisisiums etc hehe Thanks

Getting Them Interested In Eachother
I have BG and Lady, who I am planning to breed together in spring. BG is my lovely grey spangle but seems to have turned gay with Barney, Or is it Barney is gay with BG??? I don't know but they have a bond Lady is a lovely YF grey spangle hen who flips out (literally) when put into a small cage - double So how do i get these two to bond?? I have the small aviary free now so i could pop them both in there?? What are the chances of it working out between them??? I think they could have some REALLY nice babies!! Here is the troublesome trio (from left) Barney, BG and Lady

Moving An Older Bird
I cant see any harm in bringing him in. the older birds are often quieter and less flighty so he probably wont freak out. No you dont need to quarantine
-
Hen With Dropped Wings?
I agree with it being hereditary - I have 2 hens who are the same. They are sisters from the same pair, and are both cinnamons. They are fine otherwise just got dropped wings - I will not be breeding with them as I don't like the look. Mine have had the 'dropped wings' since they fledged, so yours might be an illness like Kaz said

Worming
It's called 'Moxidectin" - for caged birds and pigeons - I think it is great stuff as it's a clear, fully water soluble, palatable syrup. Added to the drinking water for 24 hours, it clears round worm and hair worm infection. It is also effective against all external parasites that feed off body fuids, including mites, pigeon flies and airsac mites. It has a wide safety margin and is safe to use during stress and breeding. it does not affect feather quality and is safe to use during moulting. It does not cause nausea. 5ml per 1L of water. cost me $44 for 125ml from my local bird dealer
