Large First Clutch!
In many cases the last eggs don't hatch as they get dirty or addled by the business of feeding the other chicks. If these are pet type birds and not club rung ones, they should be able to handle large clutch sizes well. Also give daily soft food to the parents to help with feeding

Charley Off Colour!
the weather is really tough on the birds at the moment. I am not as north as you, but we still got up to 40 degrees the other day and then it SUDDENLY dropped to below 20 in the space of an hour or two... My birds have taken it okay so far... If he ever looks off colour, shine a 25-40 watt globe on him so he can cuddle up to it. Heat is often the best cure for our little feathered friends. I hope he is 100% better soon .

Chicks Chicks Chicks Its Happening
I have had FM in 2 nests. both lots of parents are from the same breeder. I have 2 chicks in a foster nest, with another chick from different parents, and the two chicks have FM, but the unrelated chick, apears fine... To me FM appears quite random, and some get it, some don't. I am interested in reading the verdict in this thread on what to do with the chicks that dont grow back their feathers fully.

Sick Budgie
you budgie sounds quite weak and really a vet visit is the only answer. Give a heat lamp of 25 - 40 watts (not energy saver globes as they dont give off heat) Please get your bird to the vet in within 24 hours

Who Else Has Had A Bad Breeding Season?
Most birds from dealers are no good. All the dealer birds i have had in the past have had issues. The birds breeders send to dealers are the ones they don't want to sell to their fellow breeders, so are considered the real rejects, rather than just culls.

Who Else Has Had A Bad Breeding Season?
Our breeding season has been good. And overall SA is having a good breeding season because of the really wet winter we had :WobbleSign: I have had some mild french moult, the one where the chicks recover. Otherwise, i have had about 4-6 chicks per clutch and about 80% fertility over the breeding cabinets (meaning at least 1 egg was fertile in most nests) What is your set up like?? Where do your birds come from... perhaps they are poor breeders???

Flirting?
he is just a little randy from being isolated. I would let them be and if it doesnt settle in a few days or the hen gets stressed, separate him out again.

Is He Suffering?
you will know if he is suffering... he will be miserable. for now, call around and look for an affordable vet. Vets prices are very varied.

Perch Width And Distance
Hello and welcome :WobbleSign: Perches are best placed across the narrowest width of the cage and as far apart as possible to promote flight and excersise. Perches should not be close enough to the side that the birds tail touches the bars. The best branches to use are fresh gum branches of varied thickness, but no thinner than 12mm

Ashley
I have heard the very same thing

Ashley
The pink in the cheek patch (that doesnt show up in the photos or videos) could be pin feathers coming through under the white feathers...
-
Ashley
She looks to be a YF2 Albino to me. The light markings are quite common on albinos and she looks patchy because she is still moulting make sure she is healthy, as in the first 3 photos, she looks unwell.

Bush Budgies
WOW!!! I would love to see budgies in their true habitat one day!!

Budgie Seed And Moulting
It may be their spring moult. Mine are all moulting at the moment and i haven't changed the seed. I have noticed that budgies have their major moult around april, then another moult to loose the winter down in October. What feathers are they loosing?? Bad moults from seed changes often causes temporary baldness above the cere.

Cosmo is sick
I hope he is okay. Is it possible he is overweight? Is the mass soft and squishy? Birds can carry excess fat down there sometimes? Does he enjoy fatty seeds such as sunflower and oats?

The Funeral .... Goodbye Mick
What fantastic news that everything went so beautifully!
