Liv's Visit To Wa
Well over due i know!! my big BAD!! since I have been home we have been flat out with Christmas, family, assignments and yesterday our car was been written off when someone rammed us... so now buying a new car tooo.... such a busy time and i bet 007 is looking forward to going back to work for a holiday  Here are some promised photos from the beautiful city of Perth  I loved this mural (or however its spelt ?? ) in the side of a partially demolished building ladybug... yeah, i know, doesnt show much of perth  At Sorrento Quay at sunset Dragon fly sitting on the antenna of Kaz's Ute And another dragon fly - love these creatures and we barely see them here at home Perth was beautifully decorated for Christmas! I took lots of photos of them, but so few actually turned out. Here is one type. The Bell tower At the Perth Mint The wild flowers and general foliage. Everything is so arid and sandy, and yet so lush the sky on the day i flew home. there were fires around and the sun was merely an eerie glow in the sky Some shots out of the airplane window more coming  Perth in all its glory! This thing is H-U-G-E and looks like a snow flake at night! so pretty dead tree at sunset banksia flower. we dont have these at home The main wild flower colour seems to be yellow  Karen and I had loads of fun getting cemetery photos on the way home from a drive in the hills. I have never been in a cemetery at night. it was deathly quiet and no one complained of our late night visit hehe

My New Budgie - Advice?
Hello and welcome to you and your cute little budgie making friends with him is pretty easy if he has been hand raised or hand tamed already. You just need to keep his cage in a social location (but not the kitchen) and always talk to him and include him in daily life. Hold him every time you can but dont disturb him when he is taking a nap etc. there is loads of information in the FAQ section in regards to taming to read through as well Click here for Budgie FAQ's

My Birds Are Unwell
I hope you are able to get it all under control soon. I would do the same as you and foster the eggs to other birds while the parents are being treated, then treat the foster parents and babies later down the track. I am thinking of you and i hope they all make a speedy recovery.

Female Killing Other Female,s Babies Help
You may find that the hen who attacked the babies thought the nest box was in a better location to the others, so tried to "empty" it for her own use. Ensure all nest boxes are at the same level and are at least 30cm apart. Budgies will breed harmonious in colony style set ups, and sometimes will even share nest boxes. It all depends on your setup and the personalities of your birds

What Happens To Budgies In Pet Shops If They Are Not Sold?
All budgies will sell. I have sold to pet shops in the past, and they are always after stock as they fly out the door... pardon the pun Some chain pet stores will move their animals around between stores to increase sales. Adult budgies are sold just as rapidly as babies, so there is always a home for them to go to.

Hip Displacement
I have seen it develop in chicks but i have never seen an adult suddenly get it. I have a young bird that has one leg that shoots out the side. It is different to splayed legs. I tried everything to get the leg right when it was a chick, but nothing would stop the leg popping out of joint. The chick is doing fine with its funny leg, and she gets around fine and is able to perch still. Getting the vet to do leg removal from the hip is a very big operation for a little bird... removals from the knee are not as bad. You could try strapping the leg in the correct position for a while and hope that it goes back in place. But if its a true hip displacement, then there may not be much that can be done.... keep an eye out for pain, she will squint her eyes when in pain.
