Meet The Newest Member Of Our Family
He's a gorgeous boy. It shows your perseverance has paid off with the training. As said before, puppies grow into wonderful dogs with training and not so wonderful dogs without. Not the dog's fault, the owners. It pays off being a good owner like yourself

Confused and Discouraged
I would take her away from her "home cage" for training. Spend some quality, happy time with her, then take her back and put her in her cage again where she is happy and leave her alone, dont continue trying to socialise with her when she is in her own space. As I said, my parrot, out of her cage is wonderful and snuggly and we are very bonded, but I brace myself to be bitten if I have to put my hand in her cage to do anything while she is in there. Her cage is hers, outside the cage is neutral play space

Fallows
Thank you nubbly - I will take your jealousy as a compliment My birds are breeding well, but they are a few years off of the size required I think, though these babies will keep the size of their parents, they are as good as, so next year, hopefully I can improve again by making boring splits instead of pretty fallows lol

Dom Pied Baby
Thank you Kaz. I am pretty chuffed with him. PS I just notice the fallow chick looking to come out and explore through the cage door I left open. It is a foster sibling lol

Dom Pied Baby
Glad you could see it GB and you are correct Anyway, here are a few more pics that hopefully will show the markings better - except once again, the pics are poor quality due to only having a phone to take them with but I believe you can see the white under the grey chest colour near the legs and you can see the dom pied spot better.

Fallows
Not too bad at all. Lovely bird, wouldnt complain if she was in my aviary

Dom Pied Baby
Its a dom pied spot, not a split rec pied or spangle spot But as I said, I will get more pics to remove all doubt

Yes Got My Birds
I think they look great!! Love those dark green hens. Lovely birds kochy

Fallows
I think the fallow pet types are around, in fact my first few were more pet type than show type. Being a recessive variety, it is more difficult to get size into. My little yellow fallow will probably be too small to keep, but I have to be careful just starting out - I dont want to get rid of anything I might regret later

Dom Pied Baby
It's a Dom Pied Spangle. You can just see his white spot over at the left near the wall. It wasnt a good picture, will try to get a better one today

Fallows
Thanks guys. I have always been a fan of fallows, but found them so hard to get hold of to get my breeding going - now it seems there are at least three others in my club that are starting to do this variety this year and a few on the forum who breed them also. Great to see the variety is making a come back and may not be so hard to get hold of!

New Babies
You will notice it as soon as you hear it, it is a soft squeaking sound when they are first hatched.
-
New Babies
It will be quite some time before you see that little head poking out, they start off way too small for head poking! lol

Dom Pied Baby
I bought a dom pied spangle grey green hen from this year's state auction. She was a cheapie really, nice hen but not huge "wow" factor. I put her with a sky blue cock I bred last year, who is the brother to my sky who took out best blue in his show a couple of months back. She laid four eggs and all looked fertile. Just four, no more. Out of those four eggs only one hatched. Dom pied is one of my "new things". You know how you go through fads of colours that you like, well Dom Pied is my latest. I was really hoping for at least one dom pied from this pair and then thought my odds would be pretty slim, being that only one chick hatched. Well this is their one and only chick (they fostered fallow babies and were great parents though)

Fallows
Just a couple of pics - excuse the blurry quality, they are from my phone as my son is away and has my camera. Oldest fallow chick from pair one (just fledged and still with foster parents) Youngest fallow baby (in back) from pair one with two foster siblings - split fallows from pair three. Pair three also have a fallow baby fostered to pair four's nest and he is just pinning now.
