Budgerigar Nationals
We have been encouraged to purchase the larger perches and not knowing the politics and being novices in the exhibition world we have done just that. At least half our show cages now have 16mm perches. It will be disappointing and frustrating if they go back and we have to just throw them away...... My first State show and I have 3 birds going to Nats

What Will The Babies Be Like Please?
All will be split, the hen only has one X chromosome to give to her sons which will have the Opaline gene on it. Thank you Nerwen

My Feather Dusters.........dusty And Jumbo
Wow. Those pictures are really clear and very well done. Thank you RIP and Kaz for sharing with us. I am usually very squeamish, but the pictures were so clean and labelled so well, I got over that in the interest of learning something.

My Feather Dusters.........dusty And Jumbo
From what I can see, they are pretty amazing pictures. Unfortunately, I cant get the enlargement link to happen, so I cant see the labels.........

My Feather Dusters.........dusty And Jumbo
Sad to hear of Dusty's passing. I think small mercies though, in that he passed quickly of heart complications rather than slowly of starvation, which so many FD's seem to suffer from. RIP Dusty and thank you Kaz for the pictorial journey of his life and thank you RIPBudgies for the fascinating explanation of the autopsy.

What Will The Babies Be Like Please?
Well they will all be blue series, whether it be sky, cobalt or violet, possibly even grey as Im not really sure of her colour either. All will be normals or spangles and some of the cocks will be split opaline. The are very pretty and I look forward to seeing their results

Tough Day @ Wattle Flights
I guess you always feel something for your birds when you find one gone, but it is always a bit more when there is an attachment and its "someone" special. So sorry for your losses Dave. I felt the sadness through your post and send my sympathy

Wow! She seems to be doing really well for a FD. She is quite beautiful I think. Interesting how the blue cheek patches are down the feathers on her face....Im not explaining that right, but I hope you know what I mean lol.

Random Pictures
I have a couple of "regulars" in my aviary from last year. I keep them there, to teach the babies not to be so afraid of me. It always amuses me when the babies, who have never been tamed, jump on my head, or back or arm to chew and explore me, when they see the "regs" jump on board hehe. Makes breeding just that little bit more personal I think

Just had to add a couple more of "The Princess". She is my favourite bird at the moment. She flies up to the wire to say hello and chews on my shoes, but she's still not sure about actually sitting on me yet. There is just something about her I love, the combination of looks and personality.
