  1. My favourite picture too. Totally deserves Budgie of the month, he's gorgeous :laughter:
  2. Great post Kaz - awesome looking chickie
  3. That is great to hear I have just started working with one of my babies, that a forum member was interested in. If he doesnt contact me, I have a friend who has been waiting for some time for a new baby. I have spent some time occasionally handling him from the nest, but not a lot of time, but I took him into work today and was amazed at how fast his confidence grew, just on his first day. He is a very cheeky, brave little boy and I know whoever ends up with him will have a great, but probably headstrong, little budgie lol
  4. Stunning boy!! He is gorgeous! :D
  5. That's really lovely of your club members to offer to help like that The planters look great. Are all those herbs mentioned above suitable for feeding to budgies???
  6. One thing I was told by my partner when I first got into budgies and had a few that looked the "same" to me, was to look at their throat spots. All budgies have unique and different size/numbers of throat spots
  7. Fabulous pics, they look like a fun group
  8. Gorgeous birds Kaz. Well done! That Dodgey Bros bird aint so dodgey!!

I go to Pam Scanlon. I am so lucky she is just round the corner. She has treated some of my birds, done an autopsy on one for me and just recently diagnosed a hen who was not only egg bound, but the egg had gone back up inside her and was out of the birthing tract (my words, hers were a bit more technical than that). She told me my options and didnt actually say she should be put down, but after hearing her diagnosis, I decided that was the best thing. I was quite upset when I walked out of the consulting room with an empty cage - death is never easy. A few days later, I got the loveliest card in the post from the vet saying they were sorry for my loss of Lou I thought it was a very nice, personal touch :rip:
  10. I know I'm just a novice, but I still know nice looking birds and they are SOME babies!!!

Great to see you back again Bea :rip: It's wonderful to hear Zoe has settled in so well, and is being a typical conure. Little Chicken looks adorable
  12. What a bunch of beautiful babies!!
  13. Excellent! Never seen Barraband chickies
  14. They are fantastic Kaz......love the green and the grey green. Liv, I'm hoping you have two pockets!!!
  15. Crikey!!!! Good luck with the chickie boom!
  16. Great pics, he's a gorgeous boy
  17. Teehee.......what a smoocher
  18. Looking forward to seeing the photo
  19. I'm not aware of anything for the rest of this year Hills. If I hear anything, I will let you know. Even an auction would be a cool place to take them, as there are a lot of quality big buff birds usually at auctions too
  20. LOL Libby Thanks guys, I have to admit I am pretty chuffed. Nice big boy and filled with character :bliss:
  21. They look full of promise to me
  22. I dunno Liv, babies can be odd little critters with so much energy. Chopper and Thumper do all sorts of weird stuff in the kindie cage, getting under feeders and drinkers and twisting around and pulling each others tails etc. I think its energy and exploration
  23. Very nice birds. I personally think they would be show worthy. You have to start somewhere and its really nice to have birds you have bred yourself to start with
  24. You got me thinking Maes.....I didnt think there were any nests I could put new eggs into, but my "foster pair" 's babies are close to fledging, so she should probably be laying again and all her eggs have been clear the last two clutches, so I will foster this pairs eggs in with her I think and that should work......I think lol
