How often is it okay to feed hulled oats and sunflower seeds. At present I have like a ceramic round dish about 8 inches in diameter and 1 inch high, I fill this up half way with hulled oats and sunflower seeds at about a ratio of 2/3 oats and 1/3 sunflower seeds. They get this once a week. Is it okay to give it to them more often or not? This is for about 40 budgies in the avairy. Lasts them maybe a couple of hours

I ring mine with split metal rings just so I can identify each clutch so as not to interbreed.

The hen usually sits tight on them after the 3 egg is laid which would of been about the 5th August of she laid the first egg on 1st August approximately. So it would be about 18 days from then so possible 23rd August the first should hatch but I would give her until about the 30th until I removed any eggs that hadn't hatched. Good luck.

Yes Norm I'm not having great results from this round. I won't start breeding until after winter next year, the cold is the only thing different from earlier in the year and I got a lot of chicks. Although this lot are all either first time hens or first time cocks so ???

Thanks Kaz, I'm much better at dealing with it this year than I was when I started breeding last year. Still working on getting the youngest 2 boys to deal with it
