i've got no-shows too

there's previous pictures of them in their cages. Birds learn to get comfortable, i'm sure they'll be much happier in there a few hours a day than being chased by a dog who wants to eat them. It's for the best intrest for the bird.

Oh yes, i understand that... i have no problem with them either, i was asking what's the difference between caging the dog and the budgie, both feel content in their environment.

I'm allergic to everything i love and hold dear(cats, grass, dogs,horses, pretty much anything and everything) along with being asthmatic, but what the point we're all trying to make here is that it was a warning sign to leave your dog unsupervised for even a milli second where they're able to get near one another. You say you put your dog in a cage, so how is it cruel to cage the budgies but not your dog? You may not want to, but animal concerns need to be taken seriously. You may know your dog, your budgies and trust your decisions, but your dog chasing the budgies should surely open your eyes and not make you feel defensive of the advice being given but accept the knowledge of others and that it's a high risk situation since it's almost happened once already. No one is having a go at you or trying to make you out to be a bad owner, but more so looking out for your birds and helping you realise it's not cruel to seperate them when they're in risk the way you are running things at current.

Sounds good, we've got a few crested breeders, but i've never been overly interested in them... much prefer the local fallow breeder one suburb away :hap:

It's not a very strong yellowface, if at all, but i'd go with yellow face 1 so far... as they get older and moult out it could go to type 2

I chop mine up also so it's easier for them and the quails to eat and there's less wastage because it doesn't get left behind to rot within the next few hours...

yeah, that's the suffision, which is usually picked up in pictures better than by eye for some reason.

i agree with elly, cinnamon sky blue spangle and possible opalining... Does she have scaley face also?

an albino is already a blue based bird. What you see showing through is suffision, which is a fault of colour that's not meant to be there and should've been washed out with the pigmentation. You'll see the same suffision in a Df spangle who will show it through also.

it's going good Norm, colours coming through on it's rump more although it's small :sad: but that's okay, i like pet types :hap: and i have some pet type split from my recently missing male pet type so they could help

Do you have pictures of this cage? By the sounds of it, where you mention the arch, it's probably not appropriate for breeding?

I started to get all the mis-leading info too Jimmy, so i stayed on one article by a local breeder here in perth and will take his advice. I've seen pictures of his birds, so i think that helped me settle which info to listen to :sad:

to create opaline male offspring the parents either have to be as follows... A pairing of a opaline cock x opaline hen gives 100% opalines of both sexes OR A pairing of a normal / opaline cock x opaline hen gives opaline cocks, opaline hens, normal / opaline cocks and normal hens..

This is a very good point you've made here DrNat... I sell to the local petshop aswell as private sale. Luckily enough for us the lady who owns it pays good price as we sell young tame birds to her only for $20ea. When i sell to a pet shop i am content because i know the owners of it, the care and know anyone who buys it from a shop like you said genuinly want it. I worry about private sales, and if i'm unsure about an owner i won't sell to them. If they don't have the correct knowledge i'll take up half an hour of their time and educate them. I do the same with petshops before a sale also :)I really like this point, i'm also not totally against pet shops, but beleive like you, they need to be educated on a large scale.
