Rocky The Magnificent
http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....p;hl=yellowface One of my posts, way back in the day where nerwen cleared the DF yf gene up for me. I think he may be kaz, he sure if pretty

I'm aware a yf2 is a blue based bird and not a green. However only a green bird can mask the type 2 gene, not a blue one. So if shilo is masking yf it has to be type one, which makes rocky a type one

yes breeding yf2 birds will give some with white face and some with yellow face but the ones with white face aren't df type 2's. Type two can only be masked by a green bird, not hidden or masked by a blue. where's as a df type 1 can give the white faced birds, whilst also yellows. there's info on it somewhere on this forum. As Daz has said in his mutation self test, the mutations which alter visually when in df form are spangle, dom pied and yf1.

Yes, i'm aware type two bleeds and type one doesn't but the df creating a whiteface only happens in type one.

Rocky The Magnificent
That only applies for the type one doesn't it?

You sure those are the parents kaz? i tthought YF2 couldn't be hidden by a blue bird?

Full Moon...
Was just wondering, these last few nights, has anyone other than Sunnie and i had problems with any uncovered birds (e.g. aviary) being up all night and chirping like it's midday? To avoid complaints from neighbours as it was on-going for a third night in a row we covered their cage in shade-cloth...?

Another Fluke
Hi Guys, We have another fluke in our nests it would appear. From the pairing of a yf2 df spangle hen to a violet normal cock, who we already knew was a split ino from a previous nest when they produced a normal cremaino. We've got a normal spangle an albino and... a Fallow OR lacewing? can he be split ino and lacewing? what're the chances of that...?? We originally thought the bub to be a normal creamino, considering it has a normal albino sibling... BUT today we found colour :S Here's som pics to show you... Our best bet is fallow, because of the colour coming through on the rump...and i'm not sure if lacewings get coloured cheek patches? - looking like a normal creamino.. Or is it... :s I see cheek patches... - 1!!!! - 2!!! - Rump with colour coming through? - and again??? Some may call me impatient for posting this... but it's not impatience people, it's excitment i LOVE my fallows and don't own a lacewing... What do you all think?

Help With Id Type
I'm sticking by Yf cinnamon. The cinnamon in the picture with the dad is a yf cinnamon and has a brightly coloured rump also. Some cinnamons look diluted, but not always all. I have a cinnmon in the nest right now who has a very intense colour on it's rump without dilution... and with the father being a definate cinnamon that's what the bub seems to be.
