  1. The egg because without the egg the chicken wouldn't have come about... Having said that i don't beleive that egg came from a "chicken" but the stage in evoloution before they became chickens
  2. Hi there Megan Glad to see you on here I have a photo of your girl when she was younger, but not overly recent ones... but i'll upload that one of her for you - Megans Creamino at 3 weeks old
  3. Heya, That was my topic It was concluded my boy honey is a lutino masking Recessive pied. Perhaps yours is the same, except albino??
  4. Wicked i'll play! okay.... WHO AM I???? I'M BLIND AS A BAT YET HAVE NO WINGS A STAR LEADS MY WAY EVEN THOUGH I LIVE UNDERGROUND
  5. Aww long time no see he's looking great as ever
  6. He sure is gorgeous kaz :sadsorry: Well done! :hooray: Remember also possible split fallow
  7. usually when cocks get older their cere turns brown... not necessarily sick but some say it's a sign of "old age" and being past breeding stage... I've had a cock that whilst down with 3 chicks turned brown, then back to blue but he was a fine breeder Unless your cocks were really out of condition hens (as their ceres turn white/blue) photo's would help us to help you more
  8. Nopes, by the fact he had lutino offspring (they'll be all hens if he wasn't paired to a lutino) Shows that he's already split
  9. Great the fact of having a bit of toe nail left looks good for her to re-gain her nail Well done to hubby, you and your brave birdy
  10. this time im going to differ in opioion because for the last couple of days we have had a bird just sitting there wasting away while questions have been asked and offers put out but not being able to be taken up on we have a young person that probably hasnt got a crop tube well obiousbly hasnt done it anyway even if they did whereas on the other end everyone has a spoon and its not beyond her age and experience to try and bird is dieing anyway i know how hard it is for a adult to crop feed a very sick bird and the spoon for a young person in that situation in far better than keeping looking in the cage doing nothing but questioning you have nothing to lose in that situation at all just a thought I disagree... i think Daniela is doing as much as possible for this bird she can. Being only 12 the last thing she needs to do is try to take matters into her own hands and have a bird die on her from aspirating. I know that at that age if i felt personally responsible for the death of my animal i'd be beside myself with guilt. She's doing everything she can without jeopardising it's life any further. Hopefully when she's able to come it's not too late for the poor thing.
  11. i personally would'nt bother with an animal hospital for this pull her nail off in one swift movement. This may hurt her a little bit, but not half as much as her catching it. Dip the toe in a bit of corn flour to stop the bleeding and let her go the toe will form a scab and she'll be right as rain within a few weeks.

He sure is he's a type1 sky violet opaline split TCB i love him, although he doesn't look the best there I'll get some more pictures of the "whole flock" tomorrow and add them up
  13. fallow cocks have pink ceres? unless they're very old and out of their prime??? I 90% sure it's a hen about 3-4 months old, just going through her first moult hence the marking colours changing... She's gorgeous and a definate sky cinnamon opaline
  14. I'll be on call all night if you need me and avaliable all day tomorrow if you can convince your parents to take you to the vet or here. She needs electrolytes and glucose desperatly, but with a bird this sick crop feeding is detrimental and even then they can bring it back up from their shrunken crop and aspirate. Once she's fitting she's only minutes off death so she needs nutrience before this happens. If you do try to feed her off the spoon, which i doubt she'll take she'll more than likely take it into her lungs. IF this happens you'll find she'll go immediatly limp (suffocating) You need to hold her tightly in both hands ( like they do with newborn pups and kittens) support her head well and hold her still and give her a slight forward flick movement. This will remove the liquid and food from her lungs. Although i highly recommend not trying to feed her off a spoon.
  15. Wow :S i hope they're not our best birds on there ours look like nothing compared to alot of the other countries !!! And to think these birds are native to here Ironic!
  16. First thing i do for any sick birds with poopy bum is bring them inside, and give them a crop feed with Sulphadim in it. If your mum won't let you bring her into the warm it may get difficult to save her, as in this cold she'll not be able to fight as much against it due to being light (no energy/fats) to protect her... I'm in Perth so if your mum is having difficulties letting you help her ask if you can drop her here so we can try to help.
  17. Hi there Welcome and happy birthday
  18. Oil in this cold weather probably isn't the best, as she'll probably not be able to protect herself against the cold. I picked up two from a pet shop who had majorly bad scaleyface. They turned out wonderful after a bit of treatment. Don't jump the gun, try to save it first

Welcome aboard I'm sure they'll be very happy here Hmmm i keep looking at him and re-thinking the yf2 due to the fact that he's so young he shouldn't be that green... and the cinnamon definatly would do that to a green... perhaps he is a green and I'm losing my judgement More than likely my judgement going either way he's a cinnamon recessive... I can't pick if yf2 or green now, I'll let the others say

Role reversal Just the other day I had a "pair" in the aviary mount "normally" then he hopped off and she hopped on him  Both these birds have produced for me before? Perhaps they're just... "experimental" ???
  21. Great new birds, LOVE the TCB!

  23. *libby* replied to *libby*'s topic in General Discussions
But if recessive pied, which he'd need to be to have no iris rings wouldn't a pairing to a normal show no results?
  24. *libby* replied to *libby*'s topic in General Discussions
    Not to my knowledge
  25. i agree, very suffused? No chance of like a clearwing spangle or a diliute spangle or perhaps even cinnamon spangle or something? There's definatly wing markings there
