  2. I think it is time to tell Ken in a calm manner that she is not allowed within 100 meters of the old girl...
  3. Looks great I love those nest boxes a friend of mine is going to try and make me some that are similar. Also love the cabinets to hold the cages might have to steal that Idea!
  4. I was reading the bottle in a store the other day and asked myself the same question so I second the request for more information.
  5. I know there is a difference between pet type and show type egg size it would be great to get some shots of eggs all lined up in a row!
  6. You should take lots of pictures of their babies vs show type babies as the size difference would be great to see.
  7. well that is why I have Boof and Buddy named as such... Boof is a show type and Buddy is a pet type!
  8. I have heard people say that show Budgies have less personality then pet types but I have to disagree with them.
  9. There are also the native australian Budgie (where it all started). I know that melbournebudgie has a pair of these and they are normal greens and a lot smaller and even the pet types.

Oh that picture is cool looks like he has glitter all over him! So very very pretty!
  13. I aways bless my home with a smudge stick just make sure the Budgies are having some outside time when you do that! Also don't buy much till you have been in the place for a while. Because what looks like it will go so well there will in fact in a few weeks be an eye sore and an pain in the a*** . Best thing to do is live in the house and when you find yourself thinking... "I wish i had a table here to do this with" that is when you buy the table. Congrats, and do have a house warming you also get lots of gifts when you do that! Enjoy and make sure you post lots of pictures!
  14. Poor girl I think she is going to be shocked if these eggs hatch! Her and her partner have been trying to have a clutch for just over a year but their last owner did not want them to breed and they would not bond with anyone else so I got them for free. She is an older hen so it was to be her last go before I put her back in the avairy to live out her time as a mother hen as she is great with the young birds and a very calm hen I can pretty much do anything with her and she has never bitten me even when I tipped her upside down to look at her vent!
  15. okay now I have your attention this is sort of a game sort of a bit of fun. We all have our fav birds so which ones do you want their owners to put a postage stamp on their head and send them to you? My top picks of the month are This Hen that owns Daz -> http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a26/darrylw/1W004-8.jpg Merlin who owns Elly -> (sory could not find a link to a picture) Squeel who owns Chrysocome -> http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a14/Chrys...08/IMG_3924.jpg Ozzie who Owns melbournebusgie -> http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x259/er...x/IMG_04981.jpg So other people let me know who's birds you want to be posted to you. ETA - oh yes and Kaz's entire avairy!

Welcome! Love the pictures! You can always pack those boys up and send them to me... then again I don't hink our customs will let them through
  17. Thanks Elly that is what I am trying to do. They are really good about stepping up when they are out of their cage are happier to step onto a cupped hand rather then a finger and love climbing as high as they can and then lauching themselves off with a flurry. I believe they are trying to reach the holy grail of Millet which is kept on a box on the bed in the study!
  18. Thanks guys, went to get one and found out there is a 4 - 6 week wait! What the...... GRRRR and I was all excited to!
  19. Good idea Kaz will get an ice cream container and do that tonight was not sure about moving the eggs as I would hate for her to abandon them.
  20. Yes I agree tell them that you will get a vet check done and if there is something wrong with the bird they will have to pay the cost. If nothing is wrong with the bird they you will have to pay the cost.
  21. I have one ground nester/breeder who ignores nesting boxes and lays her eggs on the base of her cage. I was going to get her a better cage to lay in as the one she is in at the moment has a wire base on the bottom, however the other day she decided to lay not one but two eggs while I was at work on the veggie plate. She removed most of the veggies before laying so I was wondering should I just leave her or should I hurry up and get her the other cage and move her and the eggs across. She really just sprung this one on me, I did not think she was going to lay an egg and nothing in their cage suggests any sort of nesting box. the other issue is she is in my "holding area" of my breeding room right next to the door which is one of the coldest spots. I have put up towels to help block any draft that might exist and am leaving the door shut at the moment (it will be the choice spot in summer). Any suggestions, she is sitting on the eggs and her partner is looking after her really well, I added some wood shavings to the edge of the plate but she has kicked them off as well. Also I did remove all the old veggies she sat there and looked at me. There may be some still under her but I don't think so and will keep checking.
  22. can we get a picture of the "park" as a full set up? it looks really cool and would love to see the whole thing.
  23. here is the vid. MB I was thinking that the other day, he also really likes to sleep alot like a baby he feel asleep on the millet tonight and Boof just pushed him over to get to the millet under him poor boy! It's like the gap between then is getting bigger and bigger as Boof is really starting to grow up and Buddy is still that naughty little chick... he just is a late bloomer!
  24. Updated** More picture's first Also putting up a vid but it is taking FOREVER TO LOAD! Elly also step up is sort of working, now if they don't step up then they don't get to come out and they get millet if they come out so they are a little stand offish but will get the gist of it. I am going to have to change their cage around as Buddy just chews EVERYTHING in sight!
  25. I have heard of Ivermectin oral so it might be that.
