Line Breeding
LIne Breeding when it works, inbreeding when it does not. I know people who put brothers to sisters and sons to mothers and daughters to fathers. It seems to work for them.

You Know You Are A Budgie Nut When.....
38. When you are upset you go bird shopping instead of shoe shopping 39. When you have more medications in the house for the birds then yourself 40. When you complain cause there are no veggies in the house to eat cause you will not touch the nice fresh bird veggies!

When I Hate My Job...
This sucks! However I sort of feel for the lady, I might have done the same thing but at Least I know a little more then she does. I have bought birds that are not well or in bad conditions to get them out of the situation because it is to hard to just to walk away knowing that the bird will mostlikey die if left in these conditions. I know that it enables the person to sell more in the same condition and I know I can't save them all but I also know that if I don't buy/convice the person to give me the bird then someone like the lady will buy it and end up in a word of hurt. A few days ago someone brought me a young King Parrot and said that it was sick and they found it could I look after it. I took it up to my local pet shop, they helped me feed it and found a resuce place that is going to take it on to be put into a zoo avairy. I am not sure that the person did in fact "find" the parrot but more likey bought it and then could not feed it and brought it to me but she should be doing well. It's a sad situation. I just wish i could do more.

MB pippi has uncoded rings you don't need coded rings to show you just need rings through the club and to be a member of a club.

Setup For Breeding
I use to use home brand or trill seed and always found lots of left over. I now use the Budgie mix made by the feed and fodder place on Warrigal Rd in burwood and there is NOTHING left (outside of the corn as I mix 50/50 with small parrot mix and the Budgies do not like the dried corn however they do play with it) Since switching seed my guys have all insreased in weight and look better.

Cement Floors

Breeding Boxes
I put wood savings in some and none in others (depends on the hen) if she keeps kicking it all out don't bother putting it back in there it is just a waste of money and annoys her.

Dishwashers Make Budgie Mothership Easy!
I am doing a complete revamp of my breeding room over the next few years. One of the things I am going to do is put sinks in and a corner cabinet and built in boxes (well sort of built in) they are all going to be made by my builder who is good to me. He suggested that I get a small dishwasher under the sink and i am really thinking about it.

Dishwashers Make Budgie Mothership Easy!
So we are ripping out our kitchen today and the dishwasher was sitting on the patio so tonight I think "Oh got to clean all the dishes" normally this involves getting them, giving them a shake and then putting them in the dishwasher on fast for 35 mins then a dry and back into the cages.... no dishwashers..... took alot longer then 35 mins! Also now dealing with the hen watch, please don't lay another egg issues while I wait for her babies to come out of the nest box!

What Did You Get The Kids For Xmas
Go here http://www.henrybucks.com.au/flash/christmas/ type in page 17 and they have an ant farm for 29.45 that looks cooler then the blue gell one and more like a natural evironment. In fact they have some really great kids presents like the wooden farmhouse.

Some Newbies And Some Baby Pictures
Some birds take longer then others also remember shiney object that they can see their reflection is will cause them to bond with them more then anything else. It can take up to a year for a bird to bond with you, so you have to ask yourself do you want a really tame bird or do you want to have two that can entertain each other? Keep working with the finger and also put some millet on your hand to get him to jump up on it. If you decide you want to get another one, I would recommend two males then you don't even have to worry about breeding as they will not, hens can still get it into their head to lay off the perch of that the seed dish would make a good nesting spot. If you are still worried give drop me a PM or call me (if you still have my number) and I can come around and have a look at your setup.

What Did You Get The Kids For Xmas
My name is AV and I am 28 and I still believe in santa! Every yea get presents from him. However I caught mum putting my stocking out when I was 7 soI knew the gig was up but have never said anything. it's sort of this running joke in my family, I know that mum knows that I know that Santa is not real but have never said anything about him not being real and neither has she. What Did You Get The Kids For Xmas
Can you adopt me? I am sure I can split the holidays between two adopted families Anyway I don't have kids but I have two niece who I raised and the three kids I look after. One niece got a make over and make up (she is 17) The other got money (she is 19) The kids I look after Oliver is getting a fold out chair Approx $30 and he is 4. His parents give him lots of **** so I figured this was functional Thomas is getting a robot maker approx $30 and he is 11. It's the one that you take a drink can and they give you all the parts to make a robot. Catherine will be getting Buffy Season 3 and she is 13. I have been giving her a season a year for the past two years now. Have you seen the new ant farms? They are great the look really good in their blue gell and you don't have to water or feed them. Kids love these and I don't think they cost that much. This is a good website -> http://www.tesora.com.au/ they have the ant farms here -> http://www.tesora.com.au/AntWorks-Ant-Farm...d-Base__100.htm they are about $50 but you don't get the ants you have to catch them (half the fun if you ask me) and then off they go. My only issue is what happens when they eat all the gel? Also for boys bug catchers and water guns are alot of fun. I had the most fun with a 50c water gun when I was younger however some girls are not so great with them. If you have pre teen girls hair curlers are great. Anyway that should give you a start will do some more research and see what else I can think up for you.

Chick With A Cut Cere
WE need to develop Budige crash helmets! One of mine did that as well, as other have said about 5 days and all gone. Unless it is bleeding (mine was) I just put blood stop powder on it but corn flower or pepper works just as well. If it's not bleeding then just take lots of pictures of his battle wound!

Some Newbies And Some Baby Pictures
I would be happy to give you another one. The two pet types would be his younger brother and / or sister (I think i have one of both) or I have a hen which is ready to go now (and not related to him so if you want to breed in the future you could but I would recommend you think long and hard before you do) I always recommend getting two boys as I feel they get on better but that is a person thing. Also you don't have to worry about egg binding. Either way let me know and you can come around and have a look. Also if you want him to bond better with you then just remove all shiney objects.

Lady I Saw In Pet Shop Buying Budgies...bad Cage!
It is always hard when you want to do something like this. You never know the type of reaction you will get. I do it alot in supermarkets when I see people buying mirrors and bells for their pets some people can't believe how rude you are being others ask more questions and others sort of brush you off. But I figure that if me doing this helps one bird then it's worth a few brush off and rude comments. It seems like she took your advice on board which is good. Well done.

Some Newbies And Some Baby Pictures
Thanks, I thought it was a great idea by the club and really i would have been happy to get one, let alone three! My only issue was that i got three cocks But I was so much "oh oh oh pretty birds for free" that i did not notice this till after the fact! There was a little very young yellow faced grey that I thought about picking but in the end no one wanted him and Budgielover13 was drawn and she got him he looks a little worse for wear but I think he could end up being a really nice bird! But i am happy with what I got.

Some Newbies And Some Baby Pictures
So we had our clubs xmas party today and the beginers where put into a draw and we got to get a free bird. I had a look and I picked one I really wanted and got him and then found out we got 3 maybe four! So here is my swag. This guy was my first pick and I was lucky I got picked first out of the hat. Then the second time around I wanted the other yellow face but talking to the guy he said I should take this one Then third time around the other yellow face was still there so I took him I did not get a fourth round One the way home I picked up these two hens! (I blame pippi he said we should stop) Then I figure that I had better give you some picture's of my two nests. First Flame and Blue (my pets types) here are their two bubs And the foster bub from the second nest. This is the pair from the second nest both free birds given to me Bub 1 (really phot does not do him justice) Bub 2 Bub 3 Bub 4
