get a cat my birds are used to the cat watching them, sleeping on top of their aviaries or on the shelf thats next to an aviary. she doesnt worry about the birds and there are no wild birds around my aviaries. mice on the otherhand only come out at night when the cat's inside

with budgies i keep less females than males as the females are very aggressive towards each other over their nests

i have seen the dark cobalts on the net but cant find any locally to buy. i have a violet blue and a single factor blue would that work?

What colours do i need to breed cobalts? would a normal blue to violet give me 1?

i dont have a problem but my other-half says that i have. she wants to cull some of my birds but i have hidden the keys to all aviaries. ............ oh maybe i do have a problem it's affecting her daughter (7yr old) as she now has her own 2 pairs

my birds love milk thistle which i grow in the garden. if the i have plenty growing then the birds gets the roots as well. thats the only weed i wont pull out for the compost

okay some questions i can help you with. i give my birds corn (absolutly love), apple(not that keen on) , milk thistle(absolutly love), carrot(not keen on), silverbeet(love), bok choy(getting used to it), pears, nectarines and peaches when my trees has fruit and will start trying pumpkin. the quails will breed when they are ready. my aviary is an old wood shed so there is plenty of bark and leaves on the floor and i throw in fresh stuff when i cut wood. the quails love digging around through the bark. if the aviary is large enough then finches the finches should be okay as in my aviary has budgies, java sparrows, zebra finches, pair of bourke parrots and a pair of turk parrots and they all get along. i have 3 seed containers and 4 water containers. i just plant some of my budgie seed in pots. i hope that helps

i live out in the bush so for me petrol prices are a joke. the nearest town with the everything is 20km away so there isnt the "lets duck into town for a drive" anymore. $20 doesnt give you much these days. there is a lot of oil around Oz but they wont use it instead they buy the stuff in. if we used our own oil then petrol would be much cheaper for us

years ago i breed a creamino that left the box as a yf2 albino and when it moulted into his adult feathers it changed to a limey green colour. unfortunatly it died 6 months later and i never got photos of him or bred from him
