  1. I already have him planned out but could still use him. If I was to show him next weekend would that be to much for him as he went to the shield and riverina I really need some advice Why I haven't really considered him is if I was to use him they all would be spangles and I really was some good quality normals.
  2. Yes Heath the Sky is a Geoff Tonkin bird father is a Sky pied from Ross Loats and mother a sky from Tonkins he won't be ready to put with any bird for another 2 weeks at least because he is in Quarantine. What I can see on thier pedigrees Heath is no relation.

Thanks Jimmy you make my birds sound good Just hope it keeps going as the judge warned me the other that you can have years of not doing any good so you this hobby you need to be patent  But I am getting a good line going and I am going to work on it, so we will see how we go. Jimmy that cinn sp that MB got off me and the DF white spangle they layed eggs do you know if they have hatched yet can't get hold of MB
  5. Thanks Nubbly I thought that about the sky cock too, the violet is a big bird he is not dumpy just the photo but I think he would be a better match and no I haven't used him yet. So I will mostly choose between him and the spangle.
  6. I use news paper too. Looking good Renee, I only have 4 pair down at the moment.
  7. Thanks Macka but I am dissappionted, I was talking to someone last night and he advised not to take the yellow DF spangle to my club show Saturday week because it might be to much for him.Because he went to the Adult shild and the Riverina. He is looking great and fit and heathy but he said he might not breed for me do you agree. That will be 3 shows for the year for him but they are close Thanks everyone Nubbly I love those 2 too and the white one is turning out a super bird he is full brother to the sky cinn and only 4 and a half months old.
  8. Thanks Nerwen and GB, I am thinking sky mainly because I would like some nice skys in my breeding program and he is a nice bird good size as they are both and he has good chest and shoulder and nice length. The second violet is the strongest out of the 2. Gb the spangle is 04 bird he is the father of your grey full brother to the violets

Well she is ready for breeding in her view her cere is light brown and and she is doing it to the wire every five minutes I will post a picture soon. I need to decide who to put her with. 20. Kaz they are beautiful just love them
  21. Hard way to learn! And it's very good to have a standard if you want to show birds. By The Way we are generally nicer over here As show manager if I pick up on a mis-classed bird at benching time I will generally reclass it for the exhibitor (even approach them if there are different options for the bird i.e. hen class etc) and usually if the judge picks up a problem and it does not disturb the judging order we will reclass it then as well. We write the new class on the cage sticker so the exhibitor can see. Nicer way for people to learn, especially Novice breeders/showers. But we ARE talking smaller shows I guess. The one thing we do not tolerate is split rings or any disqualifying points. I heard from Ian Hannington after Adelaide Nats, that they were generally ignoring split rings on birds in shows and judging them anyway, hence the embarrassment at Adelaide with the split ring left on a NSW bird. Things may have changed since then though I suppose . It was that show manager, when I realised every told me to ask him to change it but he said no and when the judge eventually got around to judging her he noticed and asked the judge did he want to change her because I was a beginner and he said no. The club I am in now I noticed last year the changed a few around for other people. I think it depends on the manager etc. That's hen I just won Adult opposit sex with.
  22. Thank you for the great advice Nub you have been very helpful. my birds are use to me preparing them now that they look forward to their spraying But of course their health is more important than any show.
  23. but why I bought them ? Sorry Kaz a big error No I meant they are great I like the spangle's head the best but they are all vert nice
  24. I think every one was over the moon with that rain
  25. I got disqualified last year at the Riverina show on my hen, I entered her in cinnamon and not AOVS because she was cinnamon opaline so I learned the hard way but then I did not no how to read the show form soon learned how and bought the stanard book and everything.
