  1. Thanks guys I hope I get something good too as my breeding is really crappy this year, nest after nest of clear eggs, from my first round of birds I have 23 babies, should of had 50 or 60. Then I put another lot down and heaps of clear eggs again and so far I have 17 babies, main be I will end up with 20 babies at tops where there should of been at least 50 or sixty again. Just putting down my remainder birds now for the 2010 ring issue just hope they fill their eggs this time.
  2. Yes feather duster Liv, I had one lasy week the mother through me one last year so I think it is coming from her.
  3. thankyou mysixbabies, Kaz and Renee it's nice to know that I have your thoughts as it seems we are all great friends even though we have never met.

  5. Hi all sorry I have been quite lately but a lot is going on but I thought I would share some photos of my new birds I required recently. They are all G Watson and A Rowe blood lines. There are a couple more that I haven't taken photos yet but one is a cobalt cinn hen a light green dom pied cock and a grey cock. I am pretty happy with them as I hope they improve my stock But I know there is a lot of cinnamon there which is a pain but I am going to keep them seperate a new line. Grey green Dom Pied cock Grey cinn cock Sky cinn cock Grey cinn hen Cobalt cinn hen Grey green opaline Grey cinn cock light green opaline cock Grey normal hen Light green cinn hen this hen is coming back into condition, I have had her a the above 2 for 6 weeks or more now
  6. Very nice Kaz what is his breeding
  7. Lovely photo GB, the bird from me looks quite good, her mothers out of my violet hen so she could be carring violet. Good luck with her
  8. Sorry GB not teasing, it's a real shame about your grey escaping. Thanks Anne just hope they turn out good but so far they are promising
  9. They sound good, make sure you clean them up good if they are second hand as there can be deseases in them.
  10. I have my breeding cages across from each other so that they can see other birds that are down for breeding, I have males that seem more interested in the breeding box than the hens but they still breed okay.
  11. Thanks Shannon got my fingers crossed GB the grey is a full brother to your grey
  12. Hi Jen Are those measurements for the individual cage each or the whole bank
  13. Thanks Kaz and Renee. Yes Kaz I am very happy with a few of them especially the violet nest. and of coarse the old boys nest because that is 6 young to carry on his genes as he is my foundation cock.
  14. Here are some of my babies to date. I have had a bad year till now. Out of all the birds I put down earlier I got one from one nest and 3 from another and all other nest all clear. Then I got 19 more babies so I have 25 all up. I have lots quite a few at one day old. Here is a nest of 4 from a light green cock and cobalt hen. This nest is a nest of 4 too there were 6 fertile eggs but the last two babies died at one day old.The parents are sky blue cock and and light green spangle hen. These six are from grey green spangle cock and violet hen parents to my violets. there are 5 cinnamons which are hens and a grey cock the last one is violet. This one is from opaline light green pied cock and a light green opaline hen These 3 are out of one of my violets and a cobalt spangle wish is out of my violet hen so half brother half sister. I have one opaline violet hen one cobalt and one violet cock And then I have 3 out of my yellow DF spangle and cobalt spangle hen the parents of my white DF spangles There was a white DF spangle Cock no picture Cobalt Spangle no picture and a dark green spangle and he is going to be a stunner he has heaps of feather and is big, I thought he was a mop at first because of the length of feather and huge head.

  20. I agree with Kaz as i have had it twice this year so far and from experience hens so I am guessing they are saying nah not ready yet, one hen through 4 eggs out which I manged to save 2 of them and then she went on to lay 5 more eggs after about a weeks break and all up she has hatched 6 healthy babies, they are the parents of my violets.

Hey Mikey can you get a close up of your bird but try not to face the light because it looks like you are taking the photo facing towards a window which washes out the subject You need the light behind you not in front
