I agree with Kaz...... You are better off using the pot plants and to water them Pick each pot up and dip it into a bucket of water ... this will encourage the roots to grow down and not up if you water with a hose ....

Take the millet out .... If you had a choice between Chocolate & weetbix . I am sure you'd go the chocolate I know I would and that is just what your little one is doing ... It takes a few Hours - Maybe a day or 2 for a new one to settle into his new Family & Home..... The others have given you great advice, Esp Maes. with putting the seed dish up higher ... P.S I am sorry to hear that the other bird passed away

Deficiencies - Vitamin and Mineral These are neglect as they then lead to illnesses

When I had the indoors birds ( they are now outdoor ones LOL ) ... I just did what Kaz said ..... I Squeezed the metal cage part down the bottom so that they un hook from the plastic tray .. I'd place the cage on the floor next too me so that way I could clean and wash it all then just replaced it ..... Not fussing about trying to handle birds ... As you have grabbed her she will ( maybe ) be a little put off by that and may take longer to hand tame again .... Good luck next time

Brand - I would go for either Golden Cob, Or a Cardona Mix ( it is far better then budgie blue ) You will get these brands from a Bird supplier or a Really Good Pet food store / warehouse
