  1. Dont think this baby was sired by these parents. Different dad maybe? Baby looks pretty, be good to see when it feathers up more Pie this was the only egg from the above parents - I was resting them ( they were actually in the breeding avairy by themselves) after 2 clutches I removed them and fostered theegg, I will be taking new pics today
  2. When changing seeds ( i do this during the winter times ) I add a table spoon tof "New"seed and mix it in with the other seed, each day i add another spoon full this gives them time to adjust to the new seed without going thru a molt as canging to new seed can cause the birds to go thru a molt ...... ( the above is for my avairy birds )

    Sweet potato is great! But I have never given i to my birds raw, I usually Grate some up and steam it so it is soft and cooked as some potatos aren't good raw for birds, Or Like birdluv said cook and mash it up ... But it can not stay out very long as it does go bad quicker then other veggies .......

  8. Thanks guys am adjusting the size of the pics now and will up load...This is the fostered chick it is from the parents that my TCB (gypsy) came from .... Which is werid as the mum is a Olive Opaline Normal and th Dad is a skyblue dilute spangel They produced Mybird (Dom pied clear flight), Gypsy (yellow TCB) Lutinos, and Olive spangels .......PB is slow so i got this one up so far

  11. so ..... who is going to tell me what my babies will be ??? 1 hatched 14/3 ... fostered egg 2 dis 3 hatched 17/3 4 dis 5 hatched 19/3 6 hatched 20/3 7 hatched 23/3 For first time parents THEY ARE FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Baby 2 died at 1 week old - Full crop No bleeding? So not sure what happened there ( no mites either ) The ast year I have been breedng I have never see a "Dad" lilke sowman ... He would sit on eggs ????? he is always in the nest with Mum and bubs if no he is out on guard - All bubs are full and alert eyes open most are coloured up apart the youngest ... SO WHAT DID I GET ???????
  12. Dave mate, I am sorry to hear about your losses ..... I have noticed one thing with my bird they young ones are the ones that follow and they look for those little gaps where they both get stuck, i have been lucky and have saved my 2 twice ....

  17. Sorry for your loss mate ..... When the new avairy is ready they will be warmer as it is more enlclosed so that would stop the drafts too ....
