how long was their break?

Never Say Never......
my vote goes to the green cinnamon wing spangle

Budgies Dropping Eggs
I have had a spate of eggs away as well. My are all cracked. I say that some hens are "coming of age" so to speak.

My New Boy
I normally name birds after their personalities or parentage, but sometimes it is hard. A lot of people are going to go "he is green and gold, so name him ozzie" or some variation. Yes, he is green and gold, but to me, it is more of the green and gold we saw in the 70' and 80's, so I would go with a name that kind of comes from that era. As a little boy, you can name him after one of those great cricketers of that era, like DK Lillee, AB( Alan Border) or Boonie (David Boone), or even something like Retro. I actually like the name Retro. He has the whole hypercolour t-shirt thing going on, with him being blue but since he is a YF2, looking green. After thinking about it, I say Retro.

Green Faced Budgie
A brown faced budgie!!!

Selling Budgies
it makes perfect sense what you are saying. Deb and I are swapping some birds, and I am giving her 6. It was tough to decide as some have their own little stories and personalities. Lucky Deb only has quarantine space for 6, or it could have turned really nasty - LOL

Second Budgie?
I agree with MB. It could work, but chances are they are going to bond to each other. If you want 2 hand trained budgies, you need to get both of them seperately, raise them seperately, them intorduce them to each other after they are bonded to you

My Babies
I am agreeing with violet cobalts. I do not see any mauve.

Body Language
Yes, studied by very very very patient, lonely people - LOL!!!!!!!!!

Handrearing
Sorry, but if you know all the ups and downs, then what are the questions in your first post doing there? So you are believing friends at school over experienced breeders?

Green Faced Budgie
she's a silly hen. Was she badly hurt?
-
Green Faced Budgie
She tends to dig down into0 the spinach and drink the water that has leaked out of the spinach into the containers. Though you are right Deb, very messy. She is the Mum of four of your current birds, so for your sake, lets hope it is not a genetic trait!!!
-
Handrearing
If the hen is raising and feeding the bird, why do you want to had rear it? Why not just tame it? Handle it a lot form an early age. Let Mum feed it. They always do a better job
-
Green Faced Budgie
Yes, she is a Fallow.

Wattle Flights
I took a few more pics, but i want to keep the pics of Deb's new birds seperate, so here is mix of some that are staying and going.
-
Green Faced Budgie
I have never seen a budgie that gets so into the spinach as Sebby. Look at these pics? Neat, is there a messiest eater contest?

Wattle Flights
Some more photo updates. Deb and I are doing a trade. I am moving away from pet type birds and she is after some pieds, so we are swapping some. Trust me, there has been a long conversation. Anyway, here are some pics of the birds Deb is getting next Satruday. Mozzarella - brother to the 4 2 pieds and 2 yellow faces deb received earlier in the year. Unlike his recessive sky blue brothers, he is cobalt Mel - the picture does not do her justice but she i a violet cobalt - electric in colour. She has paired up well with Macaroni - uncle to Mozzarelle Maccaroni- looks almost identical to his brother and nephews. Sorry deb, good luck telling these guys apart. i cannot. Mozarella and Genevieve - Genevieve is sister to my DF dom pied and Gabrielle (Pale Ale), daughter of an Albino and Hugo, a DF Dom pied Ozzie - Ozzie i a rehomed budgie, but still very young. His owners went overseas to England to live. He bonds well with other birds and is a real cutie. Kaui - (means beautiful in hawaiian I think). She looks like a dark eye creamino, but in actuality she is a YF2 mauve pied with very little markings. I would say that she would be a DF dom pied due to her lack of markings, but that is impossible as mother was an Albino split to recessive mauve pied, whilst father was a yellow faced blue splangle, not sure what he was split to and now will never know.

Opinions Please
If you can avoid the seperation, I say leave them as is. remember putting just hens together in small cages could lead to trouble

Why I Prefer Organic Acv
so where do you buy this organic apple cider vinegar? where do you get yours neat? i heard some breeders say that birds do not like the taste, so when you first start off adding it to the water, also add some honey, as the swee honey cancels out the sour vinegar, but has not effect on medicinal purposes

What's Up With Neat
Neat, i am sorry to hear jake was bitten, and that he is on the mend. I feel the same way about my pets. When I had hadmy youngest dog Tess for all of a week, she ended up at Strathfield as well with a bone in her throat. Cost me $2500, so I know how u feel. Sorry to hear all the hard times you are going through. Good luck with it all. Let me know if I can help, i am a stones throw away at Wattle Grove.

Urgent Help Please!
i love how Gabrielle, or Pale Ale, as she was called, is the only know example on here of a pale baby suriving. sad thing is that 5 other pale chicks died, from 3 sets of hens, so Gabrielle, really is a blessing from God.

Paediatrician Visit
Funding is a state initiative. If he is funded by the state government, then he can attend there and they can get extra help in to assist him. I work in a catholic school and that is the way it works. I have taught in a private independent school and my sister is a deputy in a state primary school, so I have seen it all in that regard

Paediatrician Visit
Deb, I have been reading the posts that have been made here, and I don't mean to be rude or to insult people as they are simply wishing the very best for you and Jadon, but you have to realise that some of the autistic spectrum orders don't go away with the maturing in age. School's are set up to deal with these issues. I have students in my classes who have Aspergers and fall at different places on the ASD (austistic spectrum disorder) scale. You of course need to get him assessed to see the level he is at, but it may well be something that he has to deal with for many years. I was recently at a conference on ASD's and the presenter (one of the world's experts in this field) explained it like this - expecting someone with Aspergers to understand and consider another person's feelings is like expecting a blind person to read a normal newspaper - it is not going to happen. I understand the need to want to protect your child, every parent wants that, but rather than looking at withdrawing him, look at what provisions and assistance he can receive in the primary school he will go into. My sister is a primary school deputy Principal, and yet she started her teaching life some 13 years ago as a Special Education teacher in a high intensity special school. Teachers are well trained in coping with students with learning difficulties. Diagnosed students can get funding and have a carer in a class to assist them with everyday task. Different skills and expectations can be taught. Do not sell the education system short. I understand that fears and worry, but I am not sure that withdrawal is the answer here. Rather, look what the school offers, what more can be offered, and what you can do to assist, rather than completely withdrawing him. There are many parents in your situation. Seek them out. Get parental advice, as well as specialist and teacher advice.

Wattle Flights
It seems I do not update pics enough. Anyway, here are some of my birds after some fresh cuttings were taken and added to the aviary Most of these demosntrate why a blue budgie cannot survive in the wild. And how bright the flash is on a camera phone
