I had my baby hatch on the 12th, the eggs are getting dirty. I know you could wash them but what temperature does the water have to be at? I want to try that bowl thing, put the eggs in a bowl filled with warm water and the ones that stay a float are alive and the dead sink to the bottom. This also washes them off. I have no bedding in the nest box...she kicked it all out so quickly this morning I just put the eggs and chick inside a seed cup and I took a wet rag, wiped the bottom of the box and than put 3 pieces of toilet paper on the bottom. Any suggestions? I don't want this baby splay legged. Should I put some oatmeal in there?

Love the Creamino and Resseive Pied Violet! Awsome looking birds! Lucky you!
  4. Cool nest boxes! I love that idea!
  5. Do they get splay legged if there is no shavings in the nest box? Because I have no shavings, mine are just like yours...
  6. I marked them on the breeding card but the not eggs them self. The one I fosterd I marked...and it is fertile just starting to form. I candelled it today. I seen its heart beating. The other baby is doing well, he is full of food. I gave them some brown rice and eggs last night so maybe thats why he is so full I will have some pictures after they are all done hatching. I need to borrow teh camera and I can't borrow it every time one hatches so maybe by next friday or so they will all be hatched. Hopefully a spangle or two are in the clutch. How would I know? I read something on another post about a 3 tail thing...?
  7. Yes they did, the other pair laid an egg so I gave them the youngest one right away. From this pair a chick hatched last night HOPE TO GOD IT IS MY SPANGLE. I'm hoping I get one tommorow on valentines day to name him or her Cupid :(Laughing out loud): Should I foster another egg or two? I don't care what I get from the other pair..I just want my spangles...I can't keep alot of birds. I am running out of room plus my cockatiels are beggining to lay. SPRING IS IN THE AIR, although its the middle of winter So I have: Pair 1: One egg and the foster Pair 2: 1 chick and 6 eggs
  8. okay I didn't meen to say all babies were Spangles but there were alot. One in every clutch. I also had some Yellow Faced Type 2 Resseive Pied Skyblues meaning she was split to resseive pied along with him and she was also split to blue. Anyways...first baby arrived today 2 days early
  9. NO SHE HAD PITCH RED EYES
  10. Well I was waiting to show you guys the eggs until they were done laying. I hope they are because they had 10! :hoh: I threw 2 out she could barely sit on them. To bad my other pair hasn't went to nest yet...or else they could have had them. This pair only had 2 last time. 2 to 10 BIG JUMP. Well here they are with thier big family! :(Laughing out loud): http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s170/ron07_2007/dad.jpg Here is the dad...Light Green Spangle Opaline http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s170/ron07_2007/eggs1.jpg Eggs, lots of em! :(Laughing out loud): http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s170/ron07_2007/eggs2.jpg closer I am keeping every spangle from them because I have none, I want to breed a "Yellow Faced Type 2 Spangle Opaline Skyblue" so they will help. This pair had a Blue baby the last time so If I get a Blue male it would be even better. Could some one explain to me the "Spangle". Someone said it was Dominant but I had a previous pair (my first ever) a "Yellow Faced Type 2 Cobalt male" and a "Lutino hen" and they gave me Yellow Faced Type 2 Skyblue Opaline Spangles....every baby was almost spangle! ****Pictures have been changed to links as they were larger than 450 by 450 requirements*****

I'm making a breeding cabinet for my budgies...what size cage front should I use for a breeding pair. They come in different sizes so...what size should I use I think 24 x ? x ? l :(Laughing out loud):
  14. 1). Skyblue Whitewing - female 2). Yellow Faced Type 2 Skyblue Spangle Dilute Dominant Pied (this is alot but that what it looks like) - can't tell sex 3). Yellow Faced type 2 Cobalt Dominant Pied - female (it could be a dark green but I see blue and green which indicates yellow faced) 4). Light Green Ressescive Pied 5). Dark Green Normal 6). Cobalt Ressecive Pied Dilute (might not be dilute but the picture is foggy...) 7). Dark eyed clear or a DF Dominant Pied 8). Skyblue Opaline Sometimes the reason a bird can't fly is like feathers said above. They could loose thier flight feathers and that budgie looks English or part English so it is a heavy bird. Sometimes though I have seen at breeder's houses they have birds that can't fly because they have tumors. So if it dosen't get better by the next moult get him checked out...
  15. Yeah I can't see a picture...
  16. I would say: Yellow Faced Type 2 Mauve Dilute (or greywing as HurdyBirdy) said...
  17. Yep its sex linked :budgiedance: and females can't be split to Lutino...they have to be visual... :yellowhead:
  18. (Laughing out loud) I will admit to that now...I'm sorry but my parents don't make me or my brothers do any chores. We do what we want and eat when we want (Laughing out loud)...no times. WERE FREE!!! (Laughing out loud) My pets are my chores and school...This guy wanted them for a cockatiel I think she has a tumor anyways though... so my other pair is going to nest the spangles mated. Ill mark this one egg and give it under the spangle pair and sell this pair. I never had a pair do this!My first hen (first time) layed 9 EGGS!
  19. They are only going to have one egg it looks like...3 days...no egg.... :fear  Should I just throw it out? Whats the point of raising one egg. Its probably infertile...this is thier first time. Im selling this pair. I never had a pair do this on me before!
  20. I do (Laughing out loud) ussually a very good quality would be $80.00 - $125.00. I was willing to pay $150.00 CAD for a Light Green Normal the breeder turned it down...what I do to get these birds and never get them....no one sells them in Canada. Canada is **** for birds
  21. Beautiful! My Cinnamon is a very light grey...I wanted to get a Very Dark Colored grey but I guess her body color is light because of the cinnamon. So if you pair light Green to Light green you can end up with show birds (of excellent quality)? Because what if I got a pair to start with and paired a great baby to a grey?Like what you are saying is don't buy all green birds when starting out...right? The first light green picture you posted, see the stuff (blury lines) near the neck. Is that caused by the Opaline the thing you were talking about...?
  22. WOW wHAT AN ODD COLORED BUDGIE!
