Skyblue Oplaine Cock With ....
Yes I have a Cinnamon Violet, I know for sure she is a Cinnamon her wings are not brown but the markings are a pale cinnamon. This is a picture of my Cinnamon Violet Normal hen (she is a cinnamon I know it doesn't show too good but she is the difference from her and her siblings was a sure sign that she was cinnamon her other normal siblings had black markings. I don't know why my camera doesn't capture the cinnamon on them in real life they are cinnamon colored...AGAIN I am not breeding her yet she and him are way to young I just put them together for the picture. http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee18/bi...icture031-1.jpg She might be cobalt but...who cares. okay so this hen is a mystery I guess we will see what I get from her when I breed her, well teh breeder showed me the records and the band number she was born on December 26, 2006 (as he said).

Skyblue Oplaine Cock With ....
She is in a cage with 2 other hens my male is in the breeding cage I'm not breeding them. My questions was what would I get. See here is her cage with the 2 other hens: http://s235.photobucket.com/albums/ee18/bi...icture008-1.jpg I just put her in with my male to take a picture...gees. I'm not going to risk her being egg bound and I do realize she is out of condition but in December she will be breeding. Am I right about her mutation...?

Skyblue Oplaine Cock With ....
FINALLY I GOT A USB CORD AND A CHARGER & BATTERIES FOR MY CAMERA!!! That meens full breeding journeys and pictures regularly! :dbb1: So "Blue" my Skyblue Oplaline male has been around for a while since my 13th birthday I'm 15 years old now. I thought it was about time to breed him so I got him a mate in July form a breeder. She hatched on December 21, 2006 and I seen her father he was a Yellow faced Violet of some sort I can't really remember. So here they are I am guessing she is a Violet of some sort I know she is Cinnamon. Is she a Dilute Violet Cinnamon Normal? http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee18/bi...icture030-1.jpg By the way I'm not breeding them quite yet, I just put them together in the breeding cage to see what they woul do Blue went abosulty crazy and began the mating call and started to harass her as you can see. She looked quite interested but they have to wait to start their own family.... :(Laughing out loud): So my question is what would I get I already know they will all be blue, cocks split to Cinnamon and I will have Oplaine hens.

New Pied Babies
They are really nice! Are you keeping any?

Clarky Show Prospect Or No? Maybe A Breeding Prospect?
Green is the wild form of budgie and it has not really been tampered with, with other mutations they have been inbred to each other to keep the strain and some like the grey I heard if you put Grey to Grey, than Grey to Grey again than it decreases the size. I know green isn't the nicest color but...you should always start out with normals and add mutations later. Thats what I have been told over and over again.

Weird

What Are The Best Type Of Budgies For Beginers To Start Showing With.
Yes I did I have 4 now, 3 cocks and one hen. The breeder decided to sell me a few because he is going out of buissness and he said he would like me to carry on with his blood so I got that Skyblue Normal Cock. I got a Grey Green Normal Cock from a petstore and traced his band back to Hamilton, Ontario. I have had my Grey Cinnamon Normal Hen for a year now and I was given a Grey Green Opaline split to Lacewing Cock to go with her. wow I didn't notice it was so long ago (Laughing out loud) sorry for the late reply!

Yellow Faced Type 2 Skyblue Spangle Opaline Cock With....
I am getting my bird back from a friend of mine I sold it to him 2 years ago. I bred him he is a Yellow Faced Type 2 Skublue Spangle Oplaine split to Ino (his mother was a Lutino Spangle Opaline split to Blue & Ressesive Pied, his father was a Yellow Faced Type 2 Skublue Normal split to Ressecive Pied) My question is what should I breed this guy to this is going to be my last pet budgie pair and I want a variety of chicks. I am going to have: PAIR: 0NE Skyblue Opaline Cock Cinnamon Violet Dilute Normal hen PAIR: TWO Greywing Skyblue split to Dilute Cock Cinnamon Violet Normal hen PAIR: THREE Yellow Faced Type 2 Skyblue Spangle Opaline split to Ino Cock ??? What should I pair the 2nd cock to, I don't want greens but I do want some indentical to him. I know Yellow Face is dominant to blue. So should I breed him to a Skyblue Ressecive Pied hen? He may be split because his parents were. What are the chances of him being split? Or should I go with a Dominant Pied. I will post pictures when I get him, he is giving him to me because he has a terrible case of Scaley Face. So I am going to treat him and breed him.

Violet Gene
So is he a Dilute also....? How does teh Greywing gene work because the little hens mother I am getting I belive to be a Greywing Violet. So would she be split? She is a Cinnamon Violet Normal.

Violet Gene
I already know that the hen I am getting for him is just a few weeks old right now, not weaned yet. I am going to wait until next August to breed the two and I already found a Spangle, I sold him 2 years ago to a friend and he has scaley face now, really bad so I am going to get him some treatment and breed him. I miss him so much. He is a Yellow Faced Type 2 Skyblue Spangle Oplaine split to Ino

Violet Gene
Thanks, this sucks so he is a Greywing than? A Skyblue Dilute Greywing?
-
Violet Gene
Are you 100% positively sure? Because he had two pure white tail feathers when he was a chick...oh well guess I will have to go and get a spangle than. Back with the normal budgies....(Laughing out loud) (3) pairs wouldn't hurt

Violet Gene
Well I'll give you the link...I was told he was a Spangle because when he was a chick his tailfeather in the middle was pure white. I have doubted that he was a spangle myself but I just told myself "well his tailfeather in the middle was white so he was a spangle". Here are some links: http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z11/cho.../DSC01537-1.jpg http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z11/cho...07/DSC01538.jpg I know he is a Dilute Skyblue for sure but I hope he is spangle... I sold his parents and his brothers and sisters because I thought he was a spangle. I was planning on making yellowface type 2 spangle opalines. With his chicks.

Violet Gene
okay I have my Skyblue Dilute Spangle male from this spring that I bred, I kept him and sold all my normal budgies except Blue. So I found Blue a mate I'm not sure what she is I know a Cinnamon Violet for sure but the wing pattern Im mixed up with. I am looking into getting a Cinnamon Violet Normal for him but what would I get. The chicks father was a Skyblue Dominant Pied, her mother was a Violet of some sort...again some kind of wing pattern. I think Grey Wing. Is there somewhere where I could learn my wing patterns? My question is how does the violet gene work? Here is my cock bird a (Skyblue Dilute Spangle) that I am going to put with a Violet Cinnamon Normal. I know my males will be split to Cinnamon & I would get some Spangles. All of my babies would be blue but how would the violet gene work? I resized it but you can barely see him now...

What Are Air Sack Mites?
I never knew about air sack mites and the new budgie I got is quite..and breathing heavy sometimes. Are Air Sac mite sthe same as Scaley Face? Could they kill a bird?
-
Droppings & Breathing
Um..he does the mating call, yeah Im not letting him go near my birds. I have some mite spray but what are air sac mites? Are they from scaley face...he dosen't have any scaley face. Actually he is quite active and alert...

Droppings & Breathing
I got a new budgie from the petstore lastnight, he is a show budgie a pretty big one with thick feathers. His droppings look normal but they stick to the feathers around his vent. Is it just because he has thick feathers? I have noticed that he breathes hard sometimes with his tail bobbing. Not all the time though. Only when he gets excited, could this be because he is heavy? Unfortunately I can't take pictures because I STILL don't have a camera. Thanks guys
