  1. Oh, first day play fun! I love it... they are all so beautiful and look like they will all get along quite nicely.
  2. How excitement! I hope all goes well for the big day.
  3. I am keeping it, Riebe, I have got 5 budgies in each of those cages.
  4. Hi there, I have been working with 3 - 4 cages of late, as my big cage could only comfortably hold up to six birds. I also had other birds in various different stages of quarantine or new flock birds. So looking around on ebay I came across a cage, which normally sells on ebay for $200.00 plus postage. The woman who bought it figured it wasn't what she wanted so she onsold it to me for $100.00 and I gave my brother $50.00 petrol money to pick it up. So I saved over $100.00 on it. The new cage had a red peaked roof on it, so that it could be used outside, but as I wanted it inside I didn't put the roof on. Instead I coved the top with aviary mesh, so I could hang stuf from it. It works great and the birds seem to be very happy with it. Now both cages can have 5 birds in each.. This is my original big cage. This is the new addition Happy birdies and happy owner. Feathers
  5. Oh my goodness, I forgot you were back around, Hath......

If you use oils or vaseline you just need to take care that you don't get it on their feathers too much.
  7. Finally, we have another member to match the excitement and enthusiam of Kirby.. love your posts, Joey.
  8. [sits back and awaits the advice of Nerwin, Daz and Bubbles]
  9. They are all great, Kirbs... I love the first photo.. it almost looks like a couple of the birds have been cloned on from another photo Also I love bubblegum;s new name.. very nice. I am pleased that you are keeping her. She will get good care. Feathers.
  10. They certainly are, Kirby! I wonder if there is a way to bottle your enthusiasm

Fantastic news, Irene. Having a bub he is yours to mould. How long and healthy his life is, is up to you. Congrats.
  12. Wow, that first baby looks exactly like my Dekota did before she went through her first moult and turned green. They are really great looking babies. Well done.
  13. Wow, I love that male (dom pied?) He is a stunner...

I am not a breeder, so wait for their expert opinion, but I would assume an inexperienced hen (too young) or the egg has been rejected because it is not fertile, or for other reasons... If mating is still occuring then more eggs are possible. Regarding your friend I assume you mean that he can't log on as he doesn't have a mail address attached to his ISP? You can't use yahoo or hotmail etc.
  15. He looks like a normal green in that photo, to me at least. I wouldn't call him "just a wild green budgie". He is beautiful, and has lovely markings.
  16. It looks like Lucky has settled right in, beautiful birds.
  17. Weiro is the original native name for them. It is a bit like Budgie being called Parakeets in the US.

Peregrin is gorgeous, as they all are. Your Pixel and Paris are very much like my Zanthie and Oh-oh. Also I love you calling Pika a budgietiel.. so cute The name, not the bird by the sounds of things
  19. I wasn't going mad then. I just queried this mixing and leaving for 24 hours in another post... Now I see why it is done. I was sure I had read about it before.
  20. Ditto, Bea. Great photo. I love the photo of your budgies sleeping. all the one who like to tuck their head into their wing are facing one way, and the ones that sleep 'standing up' are facing the other way. So cute. I love their flock behaviour, even in separate cages all of mine will sleep at the same time. Edit: oh no, I just looked again at the photo again and the middle one is facing the wrong way
  21. I've also read about adding cod liver oil... mixed in and left for 24 hours before giving it to the birds?
  22. Well, I am no expert, but Holly looks like a female to me, going by the last 2 photos. It looks very white around her nostrils. Albinos do have a 'sheen' to them, so it isn't the camera making it up, it is Holly's actual colour.

Hi Ellu, welcome to the forum. It is a great place to chat about your birds, which are gorgeous I might add! Ivermectin was the treatment we had for my daughter's budgie too... works great. Did you tell the pet store that their birds had scaley face. Believe it or not, they may not realise. Feathers.
