Our Pocket Budgies
A couple of photos of Pascale, who has settled right in at home. Sitting on me while I play with the computer or chat on the phone. I think he wanted to have a turn as well. This is where Mum talks And this is where she taps... But what does she use this for? It's very hard Ah, he gets cuddles, just like me... Feathers

I Bought An Aviary Today
Thanks Paul. Considering I didn't want anything too big in case I move in the next 12 months or so, its a great start I have been lying here trying to figure out the best way to add on another section when Karen sells one of hers.

I Bought An Aviary Today
Well, the actual birds are 'Feathers Flock'. I quite like the idea of having Feathers or Feathered in the name. The other ones I thought of are: Feathers Flats or Perch Palace. Jacquie has been watching too many Friends DVD's lately as she came up with Central Perch So, along with Feathered Nest we have 4 names to pick from so far. Decisions, decisions. Feathers.

I Bought An Aviary Today
It's finally here!!! Bubbles (Karen and her other half, Ken) picked up the car trailer and bought it over, while I impatiently waited for my son and another friend to turn up so we could go get it. A bit of a drama happened when they were trying to move it - one end came loose (it is riveted back on again now - turns out the end section was an add on). While they were struggling to get it to the trailer a couple of extra hands turned up and it got on easily. Back home we came where it was dropped off on the front yard. Karen and Ken then had to race to get the trailer back before the garage closed so it didn't cost us more. We pop riveted the back end back on before my neighbours came and helped us take it up my steep driveway to put in position. Turns out it is way to big to put it where I had planned, so it will be moved again before the birds go in. Now I have a bit of time to give it a good vinegar wash and set it up how I want it. Finally home My New Aviary The Main Section (Was Originally 2 sections) The Breeder Room or or possible future toddler section Side view I'm soo happy Now all I need is a name... Feathers.

I Bought An Aviary Today
you know, if I don't get it organised to pick up on Thursday I might just have to go and visit it I have all these wonderful plans for it and I'm itching to get started. I know, I know.... I am a bit of a 'sad case' Can you imagine it. "Hello, Win, haven't got anyone organised to pick up the aviary yet, but can I come and sit with it for a while?" Feathers.

Female Continuously Laying Eggs
Hi. Budgies lay eggs every 2 days, this is why there are more now. They sit on the eggs to keep them warm. Some hens pluck down the front so that they have more body contact with the eggs. The feathers will grow back normally after she has finished incubating her clutch. This is perfectly normal behaviour, she is just trying to be a good mum. The first egg should hatch 18 days after she started to sit on them and then every 2 days after that. Hope this helps. Feathers.
