  1. Birds will mimic the sounds that they are constantly 'bombarded' with. So therefore, if the owner is a Japanese speaking only Japanese to the budgie, it'll of course only pick up the Japanese language. I've heard Chinese speaking parrots as well.

Wow, that's a beautiful girl!! Love her colouring!! Well I have lots of budgies together, and they seems to do alright together. Though they have big cages and spaces to escape. Not sure, may be someone else may have other thoughts and opinions.

(Laughing out loud)... That's too funny Nerwen. You know, I saw the leg like that, but I didn't look at like 'chicken drumstick leg!! It's too cute.. hehe. Una...Yeah, I'm glad that she's now with Lemon. They both get on great with the occasional 'get off my favourite swing' bickering, but that's about it really. They chirps and play together well. I'm so happy with both of them and the way they've bonded.
  4. Really?? As far as I know, there's not max number for budgies kept here. They are exempted from licensing or something along that line. The same goes to Cockatiels and king quails and a few others.
  5. Thanks Nerwen for the suggestions. I like Minx, and also Oddball. How on earth do you come up with those names? I can't even think of one!!! hehe.. Although, now in light of the 'Chinese Budgies' thread, I've decided to at least name a few of them in Chinese. That'll be cool I reckon. Ausmoz, yeah, it's great to have so many of them. I love to watch them interact with each other. Though having so many at the same time does make taming them a bit more complicated.
  6. Hey Budgiebird... Your new additions look cute!! I love the names too!! Oh by the way, I think the original name 'Bau' is correct, only accept it should be spelt 'Bao'. Bao means precious in Chinese (or at least in Mandarin anyway). Oh, I speak five dialect of the Chinese language, that's why I'm taking a jab at saying that 'Bao' is the correct name for 'precious'. (as you said, pronouced as 'bow', as in 'bowed down'... Cheers.

Thanks. The plant is fresh branches of bottlebrush. In the top pictures, I've used two freshly cut branches as perches. They still have the little twigs and leaves on there. The budgies love playing with them. Terri...Yeah, this will be their temporary home. May be except two. The yellowface blue normal and the grey spanglesd. Both boys. They might stay in that cage to keep my hubby company while he's in his workshop (of course they'll be let out as well when hubby's not in there. ) Thanks for the advice.

okay, here's the picture of my new cage front on. Please excuse the mess in the room. It's my hubby's workshop. or rather he just spends alot of time in the room fiddling around. Here's the link to it. I'm afraid that a 450x450 picture just doesn't quite show the cage very well.. anyway... here it is... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/Che...dgieNewCage.jpg All seven budgies are up on the top perch inthe pictures. They are quite happy up there. They also venture down to the bottom of the cage quite a lot and they play with each other down there. In fact, most the time during the day, I see them chasing each other at the bottom of the cage, and the ones up top are usually napping or if it's at night time. As you can see in the pics, they are all ready for bed!! (Laughing out loud) While I'm at it, here's a picture of what Lemon and Hope's cage looks like. I just stuck a fresh branch of bottlebrush in there... Lemon is hiding behind the branches chewing it up already to the left of the cage, just under the big bit of covered up space, under the rope perch. She loves her bottlebrush.

Well after much thought (all of about ten seconds) following my other topic regarding my seven new budgies in small quarantine cage, I decided to get a brand new cage, even though I don't have the space to store it after but hey as long as the budgies are happy for the time that they are under isolation, they can have the space to fly around, I'm happy. They are such little characters. the cage that I got is 30in L x 18in D x 34in H... Is that big enough for 7 budgies? Oh just on that, how many budgies would it nicely house if I decide to use that cage to house budgie indoor afterwards? I will get some pics once the birdies have moved it.. I washed it when I got the cage home as it was a bit dusty, so now it's being sun dried outside. The new birds should move in this evening.
  12. wow, that's a great looking gym!! Do the budgies use the base much? or are they usually hanging around the top perches??
  13. Cheeta replied to a post in a topic in Cage Discussion
Oh that does look like a great cage!! Umm may I ask where about you're moving to?
  14. Love the colour. Beautiful bunny!!
  15. addictive?? You reckon?? You're sooooo right you know... I started off with two as well... then I added five more... then three more... then one more... and now... seven more!!! hmmm now I'm up to 18... I think i'll be stopping now.. hehehe... I wonder how long before I get more...
  16. Hehe yeah I did, and they costed me hardly anything in comparison to how much I would have had to pay if I got them from a bird shop or something. Actually there's only two spangled... there are two pieds... one albino... one creamino or is that lutino?... and a normal yellowface. I do love those spangled.. I did wanted to get an opaline, but didn't see any there that I'd like.

lucky budgies Bea! those are nice toys, but I feel for your pocket though... hehehe... gotta make a little sacrifice for your birds!! Pudding is sooo cute!!
  18. Oh, he is soooo handsome!! I almost got one exactly the same as him!! Instead I got a yellowface blue spangled instead. Little is cute!!
  19. (Laughing out loud)... hear what??
  20. Well most likely, 6 of them will go into the aviary, and the yellowface blue will stay indoor as a pet after the quarantine. they are currently in 18x15x22 cage. Like I said pretty small for 7 birds. But I thought since it's going to be a short period, may be it's okay. I just don't want to go out and get another cage to then have that sit there and take up space!! Just like the two you have under your futon!! (Laughing out loud)... it'll just be a waste...
  21. Currently they are being caged together in an okay sized cage. But this is the cage I use for all my quarantine isolation period. They seems to be happy together in there. I haven't heard any major quarel in there yet. Just the occasional 'get away from me' chirp that's about it. They seems to like to huddle together on the perch. Actually the blue pied with the different cheek flash likes to step on the other ones while they are huddle together and stand on top.. you know it's almost like he's trying to start a one of those pyramid thing the people build by kneeling on someone else's back. It's cute. Should I cage them seperately? Just wondering if that would be better. I must say that the cage aren't that great for size for 7 birds, but this is of course only temporary until the quarantine is up. and I'll be letting them out a bit everyday to stretch their wings in their room, so they'll be able to stretch and exercise then I guess...
  22. Thanks guys... They are very settled already being the second day here. They were chirping away and playing with their toys today in their isolation room. So cute. I did get them from the same breeders, and non of them are clutch mate. It doesn't really matter anyway, I am not planning on breeding. The breeder I got them from had like 50 pairs breeding, and also quite a few resting. She had so many babies!! I had a very very hard time choosing, and as you can see from the result, I couldn't. I was suppose to only get three!! but it became seven!! (Laughing out loud) Oh, yeah, I've having trouble naming them too!! any ideas??
  23. Oh okay... I was starting to worry that I had done something bad or something.. They are all so cute! Love them all.
  24. sorry, but why is it too many to buy at once?
  25. Well I decided yesterday that I wanted more budgies, and I went out searching for them... and here are the results of my search.... Check out his cheek patches.. I think it's cool!! A white and a blue!! Sorry this picture is a bit blurry So now I have seven new budgies to play with!! The Yellowface blue in the very first picture, he's already very tame, and the grey spangled is fairly tame as well... The albino and the yellowface spangled is the wildest!! The other three are somewhere in between. oh and they are apparently between two to four months old. All came from the same breeder.
