  4. that is true, my hen use to bite me alot but l would not respond to her and l would gently push her to lose her balance. she doesn't bite me anymore :hap:
  5. yes, Maesie is right. continue to train them separately, it will take some time but it will work, just be patient with them. l do not know if you read my thread on my taming journal of my 2 budgies Hobbes& Claire. it took me almost 3 months until l started to tame them both together. l have not been able to tame them for a little while since l have been pretty busy in the garden but plan on taking some time to tame them again and l will be updating my journal soon.
  6. :hap: :hap: :hap: oh she looks so innocent.

Hi, welcome :hap: your budgie is cute. one thing l would like to point out is l noticed the cage is round. that is not the best type of cage for budgies. a rectangle cage is alot better. round cages makes the bird feel insecure since there or no corners, here is a great article about cages, FAQ.
  8. Hi, welcome to the forums :hap: l like you budgies name :hap:

  13. oops sorry, l also forgot to mention in my original post....... CONGRATUATIONS!!! l know you mentioned you and your fiance is camera shy but it would be nice to see a picture
  14. well, l was going to just post this on my blog but l thought that you guys might want to see this. Saturday l spent 5 hours weeding my front flower beds, and planting some flowers. it was alot of work for me to do especially when it was just me doing it. l thought it would be neat to post before and after pictures, to see the difference. this is my main flower bed Before After it looks a little dull, but l planted bulbs and seeds so it will be a few weeks before you will see flowers. next is my middle circle garden Before After in the middle is a type of a Dracaena plant, then snapdragons and on the edge is marigolds. my wild/natural flower bed Before After lastly is my dwarf iris flower bed Before After okay, l cannot resist not showing you some close up of my iris, l'm so happy that they bloomed this year. I had them for 3 years and they never bloomed until now. I thought they where duds. these shots where taken just after a light rain fall.
  15. ahhh forms...... you gotta love them, eh
  16. l agree, this is a great forum. it feels like one big family
  17. I'm not against euthanasia, l had to put down my very first cat(17 years old) who l love so dearly, 5 years ago because her kidneys where shutting down on her. The vet said they could try surgery and a round of drugs, l asked the vet if he was in my shoes would he put his cat through all this and if so how long would it give her. he told me that honestly he would choose to put her down because there was no guarantee that she would survive surgery and even if she had surgery she did not have long to live. so l choose to euthanize her. l did not want her to suffer. I also had to put down my sweet little dog "muffin " of 7 years (she was 14 years old and l rescued her when she was 7 years old) due to health issues and the vet said her organs where shutting down on her, so l made the decision to put her down. When my father had a massive heart attack he went into a coma and was put on life support. The doctors told us we had to make a decision of either keeping him on life support or take him off. They told us that he was basically brain dead and if by some miracle he woke up from the coma he would probably be there but not be there ( basically he would never be the same and he would be in a comatose state for the rest of his life) or he would be a vegetable. We made the awfully hard decision to take him off life support, he continued to breath for an hour and he then slipped away from us. l sometimes feel guilty because just a few minutes before he passed away, l had left his room and l was in the waiting room. l said a pray and then l told the Lord that he could take my dad home. When l walked back into his room and sat beside his bed with my mom, sister, he took his last breath l have aslo seen a few loved family members and friends suffer with terminal illness. it is so hard to see a love one suffer so much pain and deteriorate. The worst thing about it, is l couldn't do anything to stop there pain. l understand that to some people they think it is not right to euthanize animals or humans but l have seen first hand how devastating things can get and see them suffer so much. l know in my heart l did the right thing in those situation. Daz l know to well what you are going through, you and your wife are in my prayers and thoughts. Kaz l'm speechless for what you have been through, my heart goes out to you. Sailorwolf l know what it is like when you are dealing with the choice of euthanizing a beloved pet, it is such a hard decision.
  18. om my, that is sad
  19. Hi, welcome to the forums
  20. Thanks, l always wondered about that, l thought angora but she really never fitted that category. her being cashmere would explain why her fur is so soft to the touch. l love letting her sit on my lap while l pet her, l could do that for hours she is so gentle and patient with my 3 year old niece who will be 4 next saturday. my niece will pick dandelions for my bunny and then she feeds her. it is just so darn cute to watch. l should try to take a picture or video of her doing that.
  21. that is cool horse, l really like the puzzles in the 4d puzzle link.
