  1. She is a baby because she has barring markings right down to cere. She will need care for a few weeks as she may not be fully independant yet. Suggest he pays for tests needed to clear her with a clean bill of health and then see what he says....or offer to buy them another budgie....one that isnt so young or "sick"
  2. I was very happy with all the birds I got from Jan and that boy is very nice.
  3. That budgie is very young....a baby....I would say 5-6 weeks old at most, The area on her thats red seems to me to be pecking damage from the other birds. I feel you will see it regrow in no time at all. Within the week she should have some regrowth. I wonder how such a tiny baby, newly fledged has found her way out into the world.
  4. white fuzzy chick is opaline
  5. Very good night Dave. I look forward to your pictures. Have you made plans for expanding your birdroom and aviary yet
  6. Terrific news about the clearbody chicks
  7. Good on you Erin for taking her in. Great job too knowing the importance of quarantine too. One thing your new friend needs is a warm lamp by her cage as she will be unwell and a little in shock. When like that they cannot regulate their body temperature as well. If you have a lamp you can put by the cage with a 25 to 40 watt incandescent globe for warmth, that also will help her. Look forward to photos and
  8. Great photos Matt. I like your aviary. I really really like the bracelets you are wearing !!!
  9. My thoughts exactly. looks male to me
  10. In that case Dave, have you candled ? Do you know how many are fertile ? and if not candled....what colour are the eggshells ?
  11. Suggest you take these pictures or a branch to a plant nursery to properly identify it
  12. I think she is at 5 more eggs now. that means she laid one yesterday, I think - Correct me if I am wrong. You said Caesar and hen have five eggs and one just hatched. you also said she still may be laying. Given eggs hatch every second day and incubation is 18 plus days........the maths just doesnt add up
  13. How many eggs does Caesars hen have then if she is still laying ? Generally when chicks show up they stop laying.
  14. Great news !!!!
  15. When I found him in the aviary he had blood streaming from his eye socket and it looked like he had lost his eye. Even when I bathed it and cleaned it there was no eyeball there. Next day he was much better and a few days later his eyeball appeared as if like magic. It had been pushed back into his eye socket looking like he had lost his eyeball. Over a week his eye got much better and I tested his sight and he can see. We were very lucky
