What's This On Her Leg?
The budgie rings we have here in Australia are thin aluminium so cut easily with the correct ring cutters and I advised cutting both sides so it falls away without cutting the leg. Thankyou also Chrys for the great extra info that will help us all make good decisions for our birds

-
Omelette's Babies
I moved the babies to even up some nestboxes so there werent too many in one nest and not too many in another.

What's This On Her Leg?
Thats fine mate...I was just saying once that happens to the legring, things change quickly. PS we will be at the vet tomorrow too Kens old siamese cat just got attacked by a horrible tomcat and has a hole in his stomach. The vet said bring him in tomorrow to be stitched. I bet our vet bill will be bigger than yours.

Omelette's Babies
Omelette's eldest chick an opaline grey female died today. Apparently a blood vessel in the nasal passage burst and profuse bleeding was coming from the right nostril, .............death came quickly as blood was filling its lungs It was a very large chick too. I also moved the two grey spangles into a foster nest, leaving the four youngest with Omelette.

What's This On Her Leg?
Timing is crucial right now Matt.....please do not delay getting her to the vet. It can go pearshaped within hours.

Breeding Yellow Faces
By the way kaz, I would LOVE the cock bird. I could use him for show breeding OR colour breeding as i am in need of a double factor yellow face type one, and he just happens to be gorgeous to boot You may not Dean.....he is the father of the three feather dusters and it appears to have come from him.

What's This On Her Leg?
Matt she wont have eggs in a couple of weeks...they would be here now if she was going to have them. Considering her state of health she will not be making eggs. Good advice not to cut the ring off yourself. I have seen experienced people try with one that embedded and the bird was slashed and bled so much the blood supply to the leg was cut off also. If anyone ever has to cut off an easier to take off legring, you use the legring cutters ( around $12 on our accessories table in our club ) BUT you cut both sides so it falls off without having to manipulate the sharp sharp metal.

Breeding Yellow Faces
This grey spangle cock on the left ( belonging to Liv ) is a double factor yellowface. All of his chicks were YF.
