My Aviary....start To Finish
No we cant. They were built on site and are not ready made metal aviaries. We dont buy ready made aviaries as our needs are for bigger than that. We have to build what we want. this is how the aviaries were when we moved in.........Kens is on the right.

My Aviary....start To Finish
It seems we will be starting again with all the future aviaries. The old aviaries will look real crappy up against the new structures.

How To Do A Concave
Sharpish edge......hen and an egg between her and the sharp edge.......broken eggs. Concave means eggs stay in the middle and no damage as such and depth is better.

My Aviary....start To Finish
The yard looks like a building site mate But Ken is on holidays on Friday so we can prep the area for the cement slab next. Once thats done the rest is easier. I can fit out the walls and internal structures then. By the time the warmer weather startts we will have birds in there.

Break It To Me Gently
bummer... never mind... Thanks for looking into it for me Thats odd, when I spoke to Peg she seemed to think Renee was a bird bred from Vinci stock.

My Parakeets (breeders)
Those philly birds live in isolation compared to bird places I have seen in the western suburbs here... before anyone gets too excited. Meaning what Richo ?

The Ino Gene
There has been no inos pop out of this line in 6 years. The breeder has now put Caesars father down to breed to a good albino hen

My Aviary....start To Finish
finished the roofing today...mostly done. Need to fill some original screw holes in sheeting...we had to shift supports so the depth of patio was less than original to keep it obligatory 600mm off fenceline.......so I have to seal any old screw holes over next few days. Yes, due to size. Wasnt too bad as it turned out original aviary was okay'ed by council. Specs for slab were required and we have to put in soakwell and guttering etc to ensure water runoff and had to create a fall on the roof instead of its original flatroof.

I Can Breed With Young Budgie
- My Parakeets (breeders)
Marlon, you obviously breed on a commercial basis .....quantity breeding. I seriously doubt that some of those birds are 6 months. To me some of them are 3-4 months. With 450 birds you would lose track of each one and its exact age surely.- New Member
Hi and welcome answer to your question is easy..... You are colony breeding and there is fighting over possession of the nestboxes. You will have deaths of birds and smashed eggs and dead chicks. You have chosen the hardest way to try and breed budgies.- My Parakeets (breeders)
- Another Tip For Beginners
I have to make sure my kitchen sink hasnt any water in it at night when I turn off lights as I also get the odd escapee in the birdroom.- My Parakeets (breeders)
By babies Libby means too young to breed. I admit I also think some of your pairs look too young. What age are you breeding your birds at ? To breed that many pairs, you must have a market for the sale of the babies ?- Greywing To Dilute ? Pairing
all opalines I would say- Pairing Up For '09
That is bad news Budgies dont always fall into line with our plans for them do they. Most of my best hopes get dashed.......but the tide is turning ( I hope )- Omelette's Babies
others will be grey green opalines I expect as per normal.- The Creation Of My New Breeding Room
Ummm Dave you havent finished your job. The aviary is still cockeyed on the slab- Greywing To Dilute ? Pairing
