  1. 167. When all your activities with another BBC member here on holidays involves budgies.
  2. Well I had a spare couple of minutes today, to wack up Liv's perches. I used the Kaz ™ collapsible hinged version so that it makes it easy to clean underneath them by unlatching the sides so that it goes flat against the back wall. I think there is enough for the tribe of WA birds to come and stay (including the little urchin that we could mind for Dave McMinn) Interesting, had a chat with a breeder today who was very interested in the birds - his opinion was that there's a LOT of good bloodlines over there... I think he's right by the pictures of the birds I've seen. He was more than a little impressed when I mentioned whose birds we have. I'd post pictures of my collapsible, latched bird perch device, but they are only phone photos and not that good, so you can see it complete with birds sitting on it next week sometime. Note to everyone: Remember to look at the perches too next week, not just the birds. And Yes, I did paint it - a lovely cream colour ( tin cost me $24 ) but I failed there didn't I. Damn it! Should have left it unpainted, but on one hand it does look nice. Waiting for photos..............next week is too far away
  3. How did you figure the yellow baby has clearwing happening ? Cinnamon spangles have very feint pale brown spangle markings not to be confused with being called clearwing.
  4. No...but putting mesh around fruit will tease them
  5. Go for it and tell us how it goes! One way to tease a budgie
  6. Well. birds can eat chillies too without feeling the heat so I guess lemons works too
  7. Cec was doing the same thing as you do with the egg but he was putting lemons in the aviary with just a bit taken out. He said it took a day to have it all eaten and gone
  8. This also is what hens do when they are about to lay an egg. You say its your female and she has a mate. Why did you move them from outside to inside in a box ? Were they in an aviary or a breeding cage outside ? Where are they meant to be when you moved them inside ? Are they breeding ? Is it likely she is about to lay an egg ? If so why are they being moved about all over the place ?
  9. Toss the box !
  10. Why..........is the bird still in the box ??!! some kind of experiment ?? Change topic title to Owner acting weirdly
  11. I agree with Liv...hot and maybe a little heat stressed from being caught.
  12. This is not exactly true. Clipping wings is necessary for those who train them to be tame. Although I wouldnt personally clip wings as I dont have the need to tame a budgie....I DO understand those that do Noone can be against wingclipping really as it truly is a personal choice made with good intentions and for a very good reason
  13. Dont be confused............. firstly you posted about a then you posted a picture of this one http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd279/S...cs/RIMG1156.jpg all I was asking was the photo of the one you posted above, the one you referred to in the first post ?? or a different one... thats all
  14. It's okay Dave....Liv had a cuddle of her for you
  15. No biggie The T2 YF Spangle Sky Blue Cock seems correct. I was referring to the green one you listed at first...if that was but, but apparently not.
  16. 1. Stop saying whiteface for your cinnamon grey....no need to say white face for a bird expected to come with a white face. 2. Your recessive pied hen is NOT yellowface. She is a greygreen recessive pied. 3. violet clearwing...again no need to say whiteface. is this one http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd279/S...cs/RIMG1156.jpg the one you were calling a YF Light Green Cinnamon Spangle Cock ? photo AGAIN your photos sizes are too large as told before. Adding your frames makes them too bog. Changed to links
  17. In one word............. euthensia Its very bad, and likely beyond help. Seems to maybe have bone issues further up at hip or pelvis as you can see there is a bone rotational issue as well. Your choice.
  18. SQUEAK CRUMBLE............I would like you please to post pictures of these birds. WHY ?? Because you seem to be really confused about what they are or your descriptions of them are a bit cockeyed.
  19. There is two grey spangle brothers now reaching adulthood ( other younger ones coming up too, but these are the elder brothers.....half brothers....same Dad ) Photos taken on a hot day so may not be as good as on a milder day Brother #1 Brother #2
  20. Wow !! :hooray:
