  2. One of our young members awhile back had just started his aviary and budgies when his father got a job at a poultry place and the son was made to give up his budgies because of that contract thing.
  3. It isnt canary mix..........it is canary seed we are talking about. There is one seed in most budgie mixes called a canary seed. http://www.gov.mb.ca/trade/globaltrade/agr...s/cta41s01a.jpg

  5. Looks great
  6. He is a nice budgie and he will be better than his brother and sister I think. Here is the other two Frannie and Mac in the aviary growing new spots................ scruffy pair they are and Nubbly
  7. We cant convince you with inducements AND a free ride in a hearse ? oh HAHAHAHHA THAT would be fanTASTIC and would absolutely love to, but.... it's my friend's baby shower and she'd be none too impressed if I didn't attend. Even if I were to attend for an hour or so and leave she'd be totally disgusted with me :D So I had best attend her shower. And no I can't attract her to our beautiful feathered friends - she is actually the one I got Skylah from. Fiddlesticks and hogswhallop! There will be other shows and other times
  8. Daryl is correct. If we meant kill we would say euthenase and euthenasia would apply to a terminally ill bird, a severely disabled bird or one near fatally injured. You will find even once we get to show breeding status and have hundreds of birds even one single bird counts for something. I recently culled some birds to another BBC member ...she got 9 for free because I wanted to help her out. I never use the word cull to mean KILL
  9. How far away from the other birds is your quarantine area ?
  10. We cant convince you with inducements AND a free ride in a hearse ? Very few people get to ride sitting upright in the front seat of a hearse........most of them are laying down in the back

  12. also many DF dom pieds have one iris ring on one eye and none on the other.
  13. Is the cock actually olive or might he be grey green ?

  16. He's really cute. All this talk of breeding him and its so obvious he is still a baby

Not good BUT a real diagnosis from the vet is better than guesswork eh
  18. Yeah that's the stance I'm taking. Was hoping for more responses as to whether anyone had seen them before Really? I had no idea that some bells were made of dodgy stuff. What about them can be dangerous? Bells made from copper are no good for birds. But those ones dont appear to be copper. Also those bells in that pack have slits in them that birds toes can get caught in....once toes or foot is caught inside the gap a sharp edge can cut a toe off.....Investigate the bells a little closer.
  19. In that case it is you and me plus Gazza. I wonder if the nice lady who does the Accessories for MBC can be persuaded to come and show too? Do you mean Irene ?
  20. We are novices until someone tells us otherwise :rip:

  22. I remember calling Kaz once and she put the mobile down and held a budgie to her ear :rip: I still chuckle to this day when I picture it! I did too
