  2. Krtek is a mole in czech . We have a fairy tale for kids about a cute mole.
  3. Yes, I can turn the ionizer off. But my husband has an allergy (dust probably), so he wants it on, it helps him to breathe. We should be moving to a bigger house soon, so I'll have the birds in different room a maybe his allergy will be better (Yes, I live in Czech, in the second bigest city called Brno-about 2.5 hours from Prague. I hope your friend had a nice holiday and brought you your Krtek mug-I like them too )
  4. My air purifier has a hepa filter and a carbon filter. And it does have ionizer. Lots of people say that it's bad, but I'm confused, my manual says: "Ionizer release negatively charged ions into the air. Negatively charged ions appear in large quantity in nature environments like forest." Does it make sense to you? Not to me I'll look for a water air purifier, they sound very good !!!
  5. I hope your budgie gets better. I don't know what part of the uk you live in, but look on these websites, you might find an avian vet near you http://www.birdcareco.com/English/Avian_vets/avian_vets.html http://www.parrot-link.co.uk/vets.htm Good luck :angel1:
  6. Thanks a lot everyone. I've read through the discussion KaLiMaZu sent me and if I understood right the air cleaners are okay, I'll just keep it far away from the birds. I think my doesn't make ozone (they say some air cleaners can produce ozone), I'll check on the box. Thanks again for your help
  7. Do you have any experience with using air cleaner (purifier) in one room with birds? I never had one before and I don't like the smell of it (like tar smell). My husband said it's normal (because the filters inside), but I just want to make sure it doesn't hurt birds. Can anyone help?

  11. I think it's good info. I wish people in pet stores would know these things, so they can educate the customers. I think it would be great if animals could be free, but it's not possible. So I think it's very important that there are people who love them and take care of them and treat them as a part of the family !!! And I belive these animals live happy lifes even when they're not "free"
  12. I hope Oscar will get well soon :angel1:
