  1. Thank you Kaz, I was looking fot it for ages I was gonna ask you how did you find it, but I just realized there is a seach button, silly me Thanks for the answer in the first post, I think we will make the aviary about 4-5 m long the most, we'll see. I can always devide it in half.
  2. I asked about it in some post here, but I can't find it :ausb: We are going to build an aviary. We have lots of space in the new house, so we could build a huge aviary, but I remember reading a post here, that budgies can fly too fast in a big space and then they can hit the site and kill themself. So I'm wondering how to build it. Maybe if the aviary has L shape, they will have to slow down to fly in the corner :oliveb: Any suggestions would be appreciated
  3. He is very cute - I found some names : - Mael = means prince - Maayan = spring - Morris = moore I like these names, I think Mael would fit him, he looks like prince :oliveb:
  4. I think the balls are "marbells" - don't know the spelling. Do you use them for the babies' support? It's a good idea
  5. Your budgies are pretty :ausb: . I especially like the budgie in the last picture :oliveb:
  6. They are very sweet :oliveb: . I still can't believe it's possible - so cool how similar they are :ausb:
  7. I'm so sorry :ausb: . You must feel horrible. I'll be thinking about your babies, so they get better soon :oliveb:
  8. I don't think we have all these here. I've seen ZuPreem pellets and Trill here in shops. But my budgies don't like the ZuPreem and the Trill they sell here is in small box only. So after trying some other makes, I decided to buy seeds separatelly from one breeder near me, he grows his own seeds (sunflower seeds, millet, etc.), he breeds lots of parrots (even macaws), and is very experienced, so I know his seeds are good quality and I can go and see his beautiful parrots when I go to fetch my seeds Sometimes I buy budgie food (I don't remember the name), but on the bag is written that Loro Parque in Tenerife uses it, so I think it's good
  9. Thanks a lot I'll look for it on the internet :hap:
  10. I quess if I need to do it, I will be able to. I will read the book and learn, so I'm ready :hap:
  11. That's cool Kaz, where did you actually learn hand feeding babies? From a book or someone? I want to learn it just in case I need it one day. I bought a book, but I don't think it's enough to learn it from a book :hap:
  12. wow :hap: I didn't know it's possible to get twins. I can't wait to see them all grown up. Congratulations Kaz :hap:

  19. I was just wondering, would it be possible to breed a green budgie with white face? I'm not good with genetics, but if you can get yellow face blue, maybe it can be the other way around too? I don't remember reading anything about it, it sounds interesting :ausb:
  20. Lucky you Cheeta The aviary looks really good

When you talk about a size of aviary, is there actually max. size? If the aviary is about 4m long, 3m wide, 2.5m high is it too big for about 30 - 40 budgies? I remember a post about budgies flying too fast and hitting the wall? I have a mix of sexes also, they breed sometimes, but no eggs so far . I read about having grass in the aviary - it would have to have a net under it, so the mice don't get in the aviary and it's a bit more difficult to keep clean I think.
