I use some acid liquid - special for parrots. You put it in their water too (10ml for 1l of water). It's really cool. I didn't know you can use some crystals too. It's very good info about the rain

I did the same thing couple of times - felt sorry for some ill looking budgie. I think it's okay, but you must make sure she is separated from the other birds (she could be ill and your other budgies could get ill too) and have her checked by an avian vet.
