Thanks I'm just thinking about it - I will always have to go to the budgies throught the cockatiel's aviary. But I guess it's okay. I can't really do it other way Do you heat your aviaries in winter Kaz? I don't know if you get cold weather in Australia. Here it could be about -20C degrees in winter sometimes.

I've made a drawing of how I would like the aviary to be. Do you think it's good? I will be very happy for any comments, advise, help, ... I hope you can see it and read the writing - I don't have any good program at work and I'm not allowed to install any, so it's not that good. I also need advise on how to heat it in winter. We planned to put some heating in the storage area - what heating do you use? If you use any Thanks a lot

  12. I used to buy those sand sheets - they loved to bite it, but I don't use it anymore, I thougth it's not good for them to eat so much of it - and they did, because they loved it. It was green, so there had to be some coloring in it too
  13. Bea, I have a hen who has probably the same problem. My vet said she could have a surgery, but she also said that it would probably grow back. And as long as it's not stopping her from flying, I should leave it. She said surgery is a risk with small birds like budgie and she might not wake up. Giny is my first budgie and is probably quite old, so I decided to leave it and watch her, if it doesn't grow too big. She looks perfectly happy, eats, flys,...And the bump is the same size for like 2-3 months, maybe longer. She actually had a little one on the other wing too, then she scratched it open somehow, so it was bleeding, but then it went away, and didn't come back. Hope your budgie will be okay too, maybe it will go away
