shes been with me for a few days now and shes totally mad, she knows where the cage doors are and rattles them quite often, she is getting to know her bells and all but her favorite toy is a clothes peg which she pulls along the bars of the cage, shes comfortable with my hands now and hops onto my finger, maybe a few weeks and she can come out for a bit,last night i had togo out to a party and when we got home she had somehow pulled her water dish off the cage,the floor of the cage was soaked!! i have managed to get a few pics done and im posting them now in the piccy section.

yeah i thought toys would be a mistake on the bottom floor,she is funny,she does a backwards shuffle which had me and the wife laughing, i also put the bath on the cage earlier and she popped straight in!! Jim1 hated the bath!!! I will get some more pics done soon

bit of an update,jimie is a wee bit crazy!! she is loving the bottom of her cage, she goesinto the corners and sort of does a small spining motion???shes very happy to sit on my finger and stretch and clean herself which is great. i think im going to have to get some toys for the botom of the cage, any suggestions

well i in love again!! shes just sat on my finger no problems and started to clean herself,running her beak the full length of her tail feathers which is so cute. dont think its going to take much to tame this one again. do females talk or is it only males?

yep jimie it is then, she is exploring her cage now, running from perch to perch, going to the floor,climbing to the top, quite mad really. do you think shes just getting used to her new home or is she getting anxious??

ahh female, will i encounter any problems. personality wise is fine, watching me a lot.sits on my finger pretty content and does lots of stretching.

Yes he's 10 weeks old, im saying he but we wont know yet....i think the budgie is a boy, i will get a piccy up soon.

My wife was acting a bit strange this morning, then she came home about an hour ago with a new budgie for me, i wasnt sure i wanted another but as soon as i saw the budgie my mind was made up!! I still feel the loss of jim but i will do my best to train this new budgie and bond with him which will be no problem. He is a nice shade of grey with a whiteish head,the marking on his wngs are very light grey-brown. His name of course is JIM the second.

Jim passed away about 30 minutes ago, i held him all day and he passed in my hand, i cant quite put down how i feel right now but i would lke to thank you all for your comments and help since i have been posting here...special mention for when jim was awarded budgie of the month one christmas, i was so proud. Im not sure what i will do next so if i dont post here for a few weeks then i will return to watch your birds. RIP Jim......I'll never forget you.......Adrian

its been a horrible day, jim has lost the useof his legs, i dont think it will be long before he is taken and im absolutly gutted, i cant stand the thought of it hapening and its so quiet without my little mate,its a small town where i live and without sounding like a total sado i dont have any friends here, my wife is upset too, i bought jim after my father died and he has helped me so much since and i feel that i am letting jim down as i cant make him better. Life is so hard at the moment

Jim as been sick this past few days, we had a trip to the vets today and hes had an injecton of antibio and painkilers, he has a problem with his head and balance, not a stroke but maybe an infection on the brain, he cant move his head properly and stands with his head tilted to the left, im really worried that he may not get better but i will be keeping an eye on him and will do all i can for him.Ive taken a few days off work. He's breaking my heart the little budgie....... I will keep you informed of his progress.

checked, poor jim has arthritis!! hes still his normal good self but i do feel sorry for him. my uncle is a budgie breeder for about 30 years and he diagnosed it.

I have noticed a strange problem with jim the ladt few days, he is sleeping strange, he seems to be unable to rotate his head? when he rests he just tilts his head to one side? he is eating and drinking fine, just looks a bit wierd.

yep no fuss, i should of videotaped it, i used the same nail clipper as i use on my talons!!! and yep jim is an exceptional bird.

ive just done it, and it was totally easy!!! believe it or not jim just sat on his perch which is on the outside of his cage and i just clipped each claw as he watched.....not a fuss at all. i think he was relieved i was doing it. hes such a cool bird.

there is no chance whatsoever of my wife helping, she hates birds!!! cant stand the flapping!!! she loves jim and is allways talking to him,just as long as hes under control.......ive also managed to teach jim to say ***** so thats pretty funny when the wife gets scared of his flights

jims nails are clear, i can see the vein inside so i will be carefull, im going to do it on the weekend for him.

jim lost a front claw when he was young, it hasnt grown back fully just a small little bit and hes fine with it, i have noticed that one of his back claws is growing sideways too???

Jim seems to be getting his claws stuck to my jumper a lot these days so i think it might be time to clip him?? how should i do this, nail clippers or scissors?

after three days of poody he has come to me finally about 10 mins ago, still looks kind of mad though,

jim has been in a *** of a mood this week, hes just had a moult last few weeks and this week he has been sitting around all fluffed up on his perch, he is eating and drinking okay, a bit quieter than usual but hes got one *** of a temper on him, if i go near him he pecks me and gives me an evil eyed look, not like him at all, maybe its a puberty thing
