Welcome to the forum. In the FAQ section there are 2 excellent articles about Evaluation and Pet Shop and then also a Breeder I suggest you read it for advise. As for having your bird for 2 months and her getting sick it may because she was bred poorly and was dorminating an illness or it could have been something in your home you will never know. What symptoms did your bird have before she passed away? I would first try and work out why your bird passed away as much as you can before finding another one and ensuring that the one you have now is healthy and is not suffering from the same thing. That is just my opinion.
  2. Very true, a bit tired over here I didn't think that.
  3. Merlin used to chase my fingers too and what I do is I say no and I remove him from where he wants to be and shoo him away if you discpline him in a kind matter where you don't hurt him it does work. I shoo Merlin off my head and the more I do it the less tried and he doesn't try anymore because I agree I don't want poo in my hair either. If he continues to bad behavior remove him completely and put him back on his cage (not in because you don't want to associate in for bad). Also he may be going through a hormonal stage so do make sure he is getting 12-14 hours of cover time that really makes a difference if he is you could increase his cover time by 1-2 hours for 1 week and I bet you will see a change.

    Always check the FAQ's .
  5. Welcome to the forum, you have received from really good advice.
  6. Personally, since he was flying around and lost I would take him to the avian vet so yes because he may have scaley face that needs to be treated along with mites. I think any new and inexperienced bird owner that deals with possible health issues on a bird needs to take their bird to a vet vs being diagnosed over a forum. If you can post pictures that would great help too. Congrats on bringing the little one home.
  7. Did you see the house?
  8. so sorry to hear this Kaz, know each loss is personal to you hugs.

  13. Welcome to the forum. I didn't see anything about noise and I am not sure how much noise you can tolerate, male budgies tend to be noiser then females, budgies are messy you do have to clean up after their seed hulls on a daily basis. Budgies are fun but they do need attention like any parrot unless you have 2 and don't mind them being as tame a 1. That is my input. Oh and the picture of Trish's TCB is gorgeous but a flash was used so that is not the true color of the blue show in that picture.
  14. OMG there is NO way...I would be so squeamish about putting my hands anywhere, I feel bad for you having to deal with these darn mice.
  15. I think so maesie  then you would have exactly what you want.

  18. Yes if you have your camera set where you can see it on the view finder then you should see it blurry and then focus in do some practice round first all camera do this on close up even far away shots.
  19. He is so pretty...one word of caution and I really hate to burst your bubble but you are better to have the cage on a table and let him play up there, I know you supervise well but when budgies get to used to playing on the floor it puts them in danger of being accidently stepped on it is advised that budgies don't play on the floor because of this reason, not that it would happen to you but that is why they are called accidents.
