Pretty used to do that stretching of the neck and yawning, personally it sounds normal. The squawking with flapping of the wings or not is usually attention seeking the more you let them out to exercise you will find your bird is quieter. Do you let him out often throughout the day or week? If you hear respiratory distress then like Cathy said call an avian vet immediately.

Oh Splat, I just saw this I am crying for you, my gosh what a horrible experience, my thoughts are with you, rest in piece Buff what a brave little girl you are. HUGS. Sidenote: this is a common thing I assume where you live (we don't have this by where we live) can you call wildlife to trap it?
  6. Elly replied to brittanya932's post in a topic in Breeders Discussion
I don't know the answer for this but I am going to move to the breeding help section. If you can post a picture of the baby it would be helpful too.
  7. Vit A deficiency is one reason why a bird can get resp issues, I believe another one which is why I believe Pretty died is inconstant tempature in their enviroment and being too cold along with drafts. Pretty passed away suddenly from a respiratory infection and Merlin was just fine. I have learned to keep the room he is in at a constant 75 degrees F and no cooler.

You have been given good advice but I also believe you need to take your bird to an avian vet things like this if there is something that can be treated can not be treated over the internet or diagnosed as we are not vets here so the best thing you can do is take him to an avian vet for treatment.

Read here on how to post pictures within guide regulation Photo Regulations/How to Post TIPS on taking good pictures that WIN Make sure you have good lighting, the best is in the daylight without a flash Try and take your budgie's picture without the bar cages, many camera's will let you zoom in and you can put the lense between the space If it is a close-up use your macro setting (symbolized on some camera's by a flower) and then press the shutter button 1/2 way and let it focus If the picture is blurry check your setting and try again Make sure you resize your pictures to message board size (640x480) too small of pictures are hard to see

Good luck to all that entered!!!
  16. This is very common behavior in an older budgie to a younger budgie or a younger tiel, personally thought it is cute the budgie can get hurt when if the tiel gets quicker. I would only keep them together supervised. This is exactly what Pretty did to Merlin (a budgie) when I first got him, could be a sexual thing or a dominance thing.

What a switch but I bet the hair alone is wonderful NOT to have lol, I can tell the difference between Cabela and Sonny (the GSD), love the GSD breed so so so smart and willing to please in a heartbeat, Sonny leaves everything alone but Brandy my shep mix used to eat out the crotches (ewwwwww) So what is the difference between the Whippet to the GSD? In personality and such.

males are excellent at learning how to repeat song from different sources and that is how they learn to talk too.
  22. Elly replied to tomlou670's post in a topic in Budgie Talk
water can change the color from looking darker or bring out the downy feathers more to make it lighter it is very common ).No different then when you wet your hair it can change to a darker color and then blow dry it gets lighter.

  24. Elly replied to defieldsfamily's post in a topic in Budgie Pictures
They are beuatiful, one looks like a possible full bodied grey wing (but that could be the flash making the markings ligher on the bird on the left?)
  25. Plum eyes are a trait of recessive pieds, cinnamons can have them within their first couple days of being hatched.
