What Happens To Budgies In Pet Shops If They Are Not Sold?
Well I am going to be the devils advocate and say we really don't know what happens do we? We only hope for the best. I am sure there are some that will keep them until they sell but there are others that don't.

Budgie & Cockatiel
Personally I would not house them together but I would let them mingle together outside of their cages. This is my personal opinion. Any bird can act up when they are going through a molt or a hormonal stage. You have asked about putting them together but what I didn't see is the question on females or males, personally I would do males vs 2 females as in any species (including ours lol) females can tend to get bossy and persnickey (saying it nicely) and you don't want a larger female bossing the smaller bird around. Again my opinion. We have in our FAQ section a whole section on cages, e-bay is really a good place to go just make sure the seller has been in business for awhile, has a lot of sales with GOOD reviews. My cage is pictures in the FAQ and I got it for 99.00 it can house 6 budgies easily or 2 tiels where they have a good amount of room. Getting a younger tiel is a good idea but again make sure the sex (tiels can't always be visually sexed especially the lutino and pied varieties) but be careful the budgie is not bossy at first. 30 day quarantine is recommended 60 days the avian vets will tell you. If you have a good bond with Max already you won't loose too much of it if you continue to consistantly working on bonding and being with your birds. Tiels tame very easily as babies.

Training My Budgie.
If you do a search you will find tons of topics on this it is such a common question. I guess it really should be added to the FAQ's too .

Biting.
There is an excellent article in the FAQ section about Taming your Budgie, I suggest you read through it. It sounds like your budgie is biting out of fear and probably had a bad experience either at the pet store or with you.

Olive Or Yellowface?
There is no way it is a olive because of the parents both being blue based. . Gorgeous birds.
-
Olive Or Yellowface?
Agree there with the Opaline, I missed that one good eye, as for the GF gene and YF gene that I can't argue or agree because it confused me a bit on how to visually see it unless it is really yellow lol.

Olive Or Yellowface?
In her photo she looks like a Yellowface Type 2 Cinnamon Mauve which is creating more of a greyish color. If the mom is a Yellowface Ino (blue based bird) then yes 2 blue birds can not produce a green bird but the ino gene does mask the dark factors of if your bird is a mauve she would need 2 dark factors from both parents.
