G'day From 40degrees South
I am very glad the vet visit worked out perfect for you. It feels so good to have a wonderful vet to go too. I know I felt so much better after I took Merlin for a check up to ensure he was okay after Pretty passed. Stay with the vet you are with if you are happy it is worth the drive if you can find someone that fits what you want. I drive 1/2 hour for my dogs/cats vet and we have one down the street. I have been going there for over 20yrs .

*** New Budgies Beak And Wing Badddddddd ***
So you know they can't be dark eyed and recessive pied they are one or the other . They are both pied and the toss up for dominant or recessive is there with me still. Do they have iris rings yet? If they have iris rings they are dominant pieds. What you may want to do is get better pics of the front and back of them if you can and set your camera to close up if you have that setting so it is not so blurry. The are very pretty birds and their feathers from the pics don't look horrible being in the conditions they were in could have caused the ragged tails and such. An avian vet will know best of course.

*** New Budgies Beak And Wing Badddddddd ***
Just by reading about the condition they are in I would take Bea's advise and get them to an avian vet to be checked out throughly and see if they need a beak trim. There could be underlying illness in all this. Also make sure they are quarantined from all your other birds for at least 30 days to ensure that new birds are healthy before introducing to your existing birds. I am sure you knew that but putting it out there for other members too . Keep us updated, will look forward to seeing pictures.

Sitting The Eggs
Sometimes they know and sometimes they don't. There are members that have budgies that lay eggs with no mate and lay on them. Here is information from our FAQ section Are the eggs fertile http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/i...d=25&artlang=en

What Are They...
She is a Clearflighted Dominant pied sky blue (Pretty's blue would come out teal when I used the flash).

Oh don't feel cheated (Laughing out loud) Cosmo is gorgeous and so you know Merlin had his iris rings way before the 3 month mark but I think your Cosmo is at least 5 months . Saying that millet is a spray where you buy in the bags. You can find it at any pet store even grocery stores carry it. There is different types of millet in the food you are correct. The millet spray to most is like candy so saying that only give to him when you are training, don't keep it in the cage it defeats the purpose. Give millet as a treat ONLY as it is very fattening .

To Clip Or Not To Clip
Our avian vet said exactly the reason you mentioned Chucky on why he believes indoor budgies should be clipped. Excellent points.

I believe in the first picture I see a white spot on the back of his head? Merlin has a big one too. This would make him a Dominant Pied Violet His cheek spots are so dark like Merlin's so I don't think he is a cobalt. Yes you are right his iris rings will come in between 4-6 months, looks like he has had his first molt, his head is nice and white and poofy. 15 mins a day is not much (but if that is all you can give that is okay) just so you know his training will go slower vs someone who has say 2-4 hours that they can dedicate to them. That means having them simply by them, out on their shoulder or on their cage, talking to them. Of course this time can be broken up in periods of in the AM, afternoon, and PM. I noticed you said you wanted to bring Yoda who is tame over. That could work it may not (Laughing out loud). Not sure how tame Yoda is. My own personal experience Merlin would use Pretty (my tamer one) as a hide behind and it didn't help taming him at all. Now that Pretty passed on just a month ago I am working on bonding with Merlin before even getting another one. Merlin is a very gentle, quiet, not hyper bird vs Pretty who was a nut ball (Laughing out loud). Anyways, keep working with him. Do you give him millet? If so only offer it to him while you are spending time with him during training therefore it will encourage the bond between you and him.
