  1. excellent idea, and I have pinned this topic so it stays at the top in the Mutuation Forum.
  2. very creative it is beautiful
  3. How much space do you give him to fly, I really believe that budgies in the wild and in an aviary setting fly more because it is more natural and they are foraging for food. I haven't visited many aviaries but I bet that aviaries that provide the foraging and folage tend to fly more. Also the more birds you have the more flight you will see a single bird is not going to fly here and there, there is no reason for him to do so he wants to be by you and you don't fly. BUT if you have another one or a flock they will fly more because they follow each other. I don't personally think it is because he doesn't enjoy or doesn't know how I just believe he doesn't have a purpose to fly. I do write this through personal experience because when Pretty was alive he didn't fly much but when Merlin came along they did fly more and when 1 took off the other one did too, now that I just have Merlin he doesn't fly much either because his partner (myself) doesn't fly but if I got up he would follow me and fly and that gives him a purpose. If you have a budgie that sits on your shoulder all the time when you walk around then why should they fly.
  4. Oh they are just dolls, that 2nd picture you should enter for Budgie of the Month , I just love the grey greens.
  5. Good LUCK!

I agree with Liv, don't put them back in the cage, her suggestion is pretty much what I do just a different place, the key is to get them off ASAP so they understand that is not acceptable while they are on you.
  11. MB if you click on the link it was just posted on the 18th, not Dec and Soph indicated yesterday he was only 7 months old, not sure what you are looking at?
  12. the first one is not a DF is the 2nd one?
  13. This hen and cock are not old enough to be breeding, http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....mp;#entry245515, I know I sound harsh and you know I don't breed but I have been on this forum long enough to know nothing good comes from breeding them too early.

Yes, Tweety could feel that he can't dominante Runt but he can you but you need to change that and you need to be the top bird.
  15. Why are you letting them breed he is too young to be breeding at this time, did I miss something? You are putting your hen in danger of being egg bound. Please remove the eggs and stop the prcoess, others may have a different of opinion but this is mine.
  16. Excellent point Norm, and Deb was your DF also a cinnamon?
  17. Elly replied to deb's topic in Budgie Behaviour
during the time he was doing it in the beginning he should have been corrected but because he wasn't he finds it okay and he is top budgie, when he does it you say no, if he doesn't stop some members have advised to gently push up on their beak, I personally put him back on the cage or the table and then say no, wait a couple seconds and then let him hop back on your finger if he does it again say no and put him back off of you, they do get the point. Merlin went through this and he started to really bite hard and that is what I did. I found that flicking his beak or pushing upward make him bite me more so that was what I did instead.
  18. Sorry Elly......Merlin sent me a message to say he didnt want to share you with ANYONE I knew he was up to something when I went to bed.....I am going to have a chat with him
  19. Good idea, that dulls the spangle marking right? By the Way Kaz...when are my shipment of birds going to arrive I have been waiting almost 3 yrs now...
  20. plum = cinnamon or recessive pied bright red or red = ino (which I knew you knew) I don't think there is anyway you can determine a double factor spangle when they are first born.
  21. Plum I believe means recessive pied or cinnamon, but I see Kaz is on here too so she will confirm.
  22. Yes I realized I missed the helpful part LOL as I was typing but in reality I was right making you drink more wine so you can make sure she has the perfect gift and look she LOOKED anyways
  23. you can tell if someone is reading your post by scrolling down and reading the bottom right hand side and it says # of Members like right now maise is reading your post when I am LOL. Anyways...see more factor to think about? Does she like green grays, I am not a fan of greens but love the green gray combo. Also I remember that when Kaz was getting into really breeding her birds she had too many blues because she is a fan of them but they told her to get more greens in there to help with the gene pool. Something you may want to ask her about. Then there is the YF factor too....so much to think about. Oh and does she like opalines?
  24. In all reality, NN, the bells and mirror and anything that is making her aggressive should be removed at least temporary because though it may be cute and funny it really is not and you may find a Spanky injured one morning when you wake up. Budgies can be nasty and I would hate to not advise you what you could do to change the behavior and something happen to your budgies. I would also take away anything else that is making her protective, rearrange the cage and make sure they are getting at least 10-12 hours of cage cover time.
