They look great, a photo tip when there is a window behind the subject make sure you have the backlighting on if your camera features it or take the picture at an angle not directly toward the subject and window . I love the headless budgie.
  2. Yeah, grabbing is the worse, I grabbed Merlin last week to check on his weight and inspect him he has been offish to me for another week now, but they get over it with a lot of food and snacks that I offer only when he is out and working with me. I never give snacks in the cage only with me. .
  3. Anytime, I really enjoy Merlin , to note I did have 1 bird and then 2 and then Pretty passed away and then I decided to just have the 1 again for now.
  4. Egg

Elly replied to lillylucas's topic in Breeders Discussion
Hugs on the baby , I am not an expert but I would leave the egg in there and see what happens plus if you take it away too soon it may through her back into laying.
  5. I didn't see it mentioned but maybe I missed it but increase the cover hours on the cage for the next week to about 12-14 hours, it will help decrease the hormonal behavior, cute as it is regurigation food to nothing can be very frustrating to a bird at times you will find that they actually squawk more and bang up their toys because they are not getting the affection back.
  6. Oh wow Libby, for one who leaves there is one that is always waiting to please us once again. BIG HUGS to you.

  8. Sunflower is okay for them. . Just make sure anything you grow you don't spray with pesticides (I know you won't but putting it out there). In our FAQ we have food links too.

Oh boy...good luck on getting rid of them.
  10. If this has been the only budgie in the house and then all of a sudden they hear another one yes. It affects taming for the newcomer because he is distracted and looking for the other one and vs versa, being out of earshot is best. I know this from my own personal experience with Merlin and Pretty.
  11. Elly replied to thk's topic in Trip To The Vet
After his wing clip he will be different at first, he will probably sulk in his cage but when you get home just continue with your normal routine he will fall right back into it. Let the avian vet to all the work and handling so your hands are not involved sometimes it takes a couple days to warm back to hands from the experience. . Good luck.
  12. Great makeup Kaz she looks great. Halloween is very big here Jimmy you would do it if you lived in the US, it is a lot of fun .
  13. Elly replied to bec's topic in What Sex Is My Budgie?

Don't forget about the Welcome Center in the FAQ all articles are in there .
  15. Just a note that Merlin is a solo budgie too and does very well, there are times I do feel very guilty about not spending enough time but I make a commitment to get him out at least M-F and on the weekends if possible especially when I am at my computer typing and on BBC LOL. This is when I feed him his veggies, talk to him, give him kisses, and I leave the radio on all the time for him.

  17. Males with ceres turning brown usually as Neville said is an imbalance in male hormones and sometimes is an indication of a testicular tumor or imbalance, taking him to an avain vet will be your best bet.
  18. Elly replied to Jodie's topic in Budgie Pictures
