Preventing New Clutch
Yes doing that would work. I was lucky, I had hens that got bored after a while and stopped, so I just took the nestbox away.

Colony Breeding.
I can definitely answer yes to the second one. The sound of other birds just puts them in the mood more. They can breed without the others around. If there is a cat issue then I think it would be better to have the cage inside the aviary. What about inside the house? I'm guessing that is out of the question. I don't see why having the cage inside the aviary would distract them as breeders tend to have their breeder cabinets facing the aviaries, so the budgies can see each other. Someone who is a little more experienced in this area should be able to answer the 1st question for you.

Most Expensive Auction Bird
It's amazing what people will pay. At a Bull auction an Angus bull sold for $82,000. Most sell for $2000-$3000. And these guys breed well, its the sole purpose they are bought really, for their breeding value.

Breeding Black Budgies
Ooh and then once you breed a black bird, a brown bird would be easy, just get 1 black budgie, add 1 cinnamon and hey presto out of the oven comes a brown bird. Or add the greywing gene and get a completely grey bird!!!!

Colony Breeding.
Depends how old the birds are. They should be between 12mnths and generally 4 years old. Any younger and they are not mature enough to handle parenthood as well as they could. Quarantine works by having the new bird separate from the old birds. The purpose of quarantine is to make sure that any of your new birds are not carrying any diseases. It is done for a month so that any illnesses that the bird may be carrying will have a chance to show before you introduce them to your main flock thus allowing you to either treat or cull the bird before infecting your current flock. By putting the quarantine birds in the same aviary as your current flock, you are exposing your current flock to the diseases that these birds could potentially carry. You don't want any contact between these birds until the month has passed and you are sure that the new birds are disease free. I would suggest breeding your albino to your blue boy. Even if they are not in condition you can put em in the breeder cage. The presence of a nestbox can help induce the hen into breeding condition. The male doesn't matter so much whether he is in condition or not. If they aren't in condition you just wait until they are. I have heard of people breeding their birds inside cages in the aviary. I don't really see how the others would disturb them. Your cage has a roof on it so they can't annoy them by sitting on it. You can buy a pair and breed them in the quarantine cage, when you get them. They just need to be older than 1 year and quarantined away from the other birds. Cabinet breeding is also done as it prevents fights from occurring and prevents inbreeding. It also prevents under-aged birds from breeding and prevents birds from over breeding as well. Budgies naturally find the green birds more attractive, so when you colony breed they are more likely to choose green mates.

Grey?
Remember 2 yellowfaces spangles can produce whiteface normals. 66% of the "not grey" babies will be carrying grey. That is because half of the babies in total will be carrying recessive, 1 quarter will be homozygous recessive and the other quarter will not carry it whatsoever ie, they will be homozygous dominant.

Arkady Is Off To The Vet Tomorrow
He seems to be up to his old tricks. It looks quite watery still, but (I may be imagining it) it is a little better. I'm starting to think it may be behavioural, because he was fine at the vets now he is weeing again.

Breeding Black Budgies
So what there already exists a really dark grey budgie that kinda looks black. What you breed, may work differently genetically. It could be dominant or recessive or codomininant etc etc. Also what you breed may be actual light absorbing black. Black that is so dark you can feel its gravitational pull as it absorbs all the light around it and you as well!!! okay so maybe not that dark that you open up a black hole in your breeder cabinets, but you know what I mean; black that isn't dark grey: black velvet. Ans also you could develop a black faced bird that doesn't look like it has bars all over its face but is solid black all over its face and then maybe you could move on to making the wings solid black. There is so much you could try to achieve. Also once you develop this, pairing it with other mutations, like dark factors or anthracites may produce even more awesome birds. Imagine a black bird with violet irridescence. Now wouldn't that be something.

Two Of My Budgies Have Died
Probably the best thing you can do is to get them into a warm cage with a heat pad or heat lamp, or a hospital cage. And then get them to the avian vet as soon as possible. Without knowing what is wrong with your birds, it is not possible to know what to medicate them with and if it is something serious, which it is, the best person to assess this is an avian vet.

Noooooooo....
Really inspect that cage that the dead lorries were in. Look out for any white rust or something that could hav fallen on the cage. Do a bit of CSI around the cage. It could be bacterial, so if you reuse that cage, disinfect it well and leave it out in the hot sun to dry, making sure no wild birds contact it

Is There Such A Thing?
One of the main ways to identify a Texas clearbody is to see whether it has a clear body. That baby doesn't. It is a recessive pied, with some sort of dark factor

Noooooooo....
Sorry to hear this. Hugs. I ho[pe all goes well from now on

Arkady Is Off To The Vet Tomorrow
No. We didn't get a definitive diagnosis. He was starting to look better just on the doxycycline alone, so if there is no need for further tests then there was no point in putting him through it.

Pictures
Your second bird looks like a recessive pied green, with some number of dark factors. I can't see properly. I don't see the opaline, though at all.

Best Way To Freeze Cake?
Mud cake is like concentrated chocolate cake. It is dense, with a rich fudgy goodness and is very moist. My favourite kind of cake. Mississippi mudcake is a good one.

Breeding Black Budgies
Yes, i would say it would be to do with excess melanin. Go for ones with lots of flecking and giant cheek spots, as well as having more melanin this could also cover the budgie's face with black too. It may even spread down over the front and help join up with the black dot. Yes you want heavily marked birds, I'd say.
