Tips For New Home Owner?
I would recommend a New Foundland dog. They are huge fluffy dogs, but are so cuddly and gentle and quiet. They are like bears. However if they feel they need to protect property or a person they will and they have a huge bark which scares off all thieves. Our dogs scared off a few thieves in their time. They are related to bull mastiffs too. Their goodness with children: And just cause it's so cute:

Biology Assignment
Well some members of Arachnida are parasites. Like ticks and mites. Ticks have very interesting life cycles and can have up to 3 different hosts in their lifecycles. Ticks can be vectors for many diseases and some species like Ixodes holocyclus can cause their host to be paralysed by releasing toxins into their body. Mites can be free living or parasitic. Some live in the nose of dogs, some live in the airsacs of birds and on the organs. Some mites live in your bed! Members of the class Arachnida typically have 4 pairs of legs. Some well known ones: Spiders Scorpions Ticks Mites Reference: My head

Money Saving Tips And Tricks
When I am coming and going into a room. I leave the light on the whole time, even if I am away for 5 minutes. This $ because turning it off and then on again in such a short span of time uses up more energy than just leaving the light on for that whole time. If I'm not coming back I will turn it off. Everything gets unplugged from the wall when not in use. I use flourescent power saver lights AV. Lamp lights use up more power than ceiling lights and light up less of the room, especially if your ceiling lights are power savers. I go for walks, runs or dance instead of paying for the gym or sport I eat left over dinner for lunch. Sometimes toast even. I'm a student I have to save money, they government doesn't helps us out much at all. We get paid less than someone on the dole and we are working full time!

Feather Cyst
Biggest hugs Smudgie. You and your son, especially, did a tremendous job for your little feathered pal. I've just been through a similar situation and I understand how you feel.

Roxy Will Not Eat Seed
Why don't you pretend to eat some seed yourself? (don't give her what you put in your mouth because our bacteria are different to theirs.)

Vinegar is a very good thing to use. Dilute it in some water, scrub your branches with it, rinse and then put the branches in the sunlight to allow the UV rays the kill the germs. Or you can bake it in the oven for 20 minutes, but I'm always afraid of causing a fire and I don't want branches in my oven. lol.

What Is Rickets?
Splayed is a general term describing the position of the legs. It is not the name of a disease. Information from my notes: Ricketts often results from dietary deficiences of either phosphorus or vitamin D. Calcium deficiency on its own causes either osteoporosis or fibrous osteodystrophy but not rickets. Vit D deficiancy can be a result of lack of ultraviolet light which can happen during winter. Problems may also occur if Vit D deficiency is associated with deficiencies in other essential nutrients and minerals eg Phosphorus or copper. CSx Stiffness and or lameness Reluctance to stand in severe cases Swelling of joints Pathological fractures Soft or bent bones So from this I would say make sure your birds are getting adequate sunlight and dietary Vit D. Perhaps it would be a good idea to research whhich plants are high in Vit D

Antivirus Xp 2008
Liv, my system restore has never worked. There has been many a time where my computer has decided to uninstall some pretty important stuff (like my touchpad ), it's latest is that it has decided that my DVD player is now a CD player and refuses to play DVDs. This was extremely annoying as i was watching 300 in the morning and then when I went to watch Transformers it had uninstalled itself!!!! Grrrr. I tried to do a system restore but it didn't work. It didn't work when it uninstalled my touchpad either!!! (luckily I downloaded a touchpad driver and that is all fine now, I'm just having problems trying to find a dvd player driver/decoder. So then I had to somehow watch Transformers on a DVD player that was set to region 3!!! But i figured it out and 4 hours after finding out my computer dvd player was dead I finally got to watch Transformers which is Great!. But I didn't get to watch some of the 300 special features , because I had to give it back . So if you have any idea why my system restore won't work.... Please help. I've made millions of restore points too. It does its little restart thingee and then says that system restore was unsucessful and I still have the same problems

I would make sure that the branches you put in there are clean and to clean the bird feeders that you used for the wild birds.

Younger Budgie With Older Budgie

When I first saw the title I thought "Too much information!" lol. I just questioning your want to breed a bird that has allergies. Hey I know where you are coming from, I bred my pet birds and they weren't the best examples (including my funny runner/possible french moult thing, that later died of tumour :S, I won't be breeding from either her or Arkady's babies and if I did I would be careful), I wanted to see THEIR babies, cause they special. lol But now I look at some of them and think they aren't the best specimens lol. (half of them are fat and pretty much all of them had a parent with a tumour :S, although that may not be genetic ). But it is definitely special watching your baby cuddle monster raising a family of their own.

You don't need to kill your birds to get rid of it. Just wait 6 months. Lime probably doesn't have it any more. I'm pretty sure that is what Saffy had and none of her babies were ever affected, because she was 5 when she had them. Plenty of time for it to disappear. No need to cull runners, they make great pets. Go Saffy! and they especially love their exercise wheels

So Guinea Pigs?
If you want to breed your guinea pigs you have to breed the female before she reaches 7 months old. This is because the female's pelvis fuses around the age of one year. If she has a litter of minipigs before 7 months then her pelvis will not fuse so tightly closed and she can breed in the future. If you breed her after her pelvis has fused, she will not be able to give birth. Dystocia (a troubled birth requiring assistance) will occur and she will need to have a caesarian section. Guinea pigs lick themselves to clean themselves. So shampoo for dogs and humans is not the best idea. A shampoo for cats is good. This also applies when you use flea powders and stuff. Use cat products.

These are hyraxes. They are not rodents and are closer in relation to the elephant. Look at his little elephant feet! hehehehe

Read the topic that neat posted about Polyomavirus. I posted a whole lot of information on it there. Polyomavirus = French moult It is thought that immunosuppressed birds will succumb to it, but healthy ones are less likely to be affected. If you introduce it to your flock, you whole flock will be affected by it. Not all will show symptoms but they will continue to shed it and infect others. Here is the link: French moult

Psittacosis & Gram Neg Baterial Infections
There are many gram positive bacteria that are bad and are pathogenic. The gram positive and gram negative categories of bacteria refer to the bacterial cell wall. Gram negative bacteria have thicker walls as they have an extra lipopolysacharide layer that the Gram postives do not have. Gram negatives tend to be more pathogenic than gram positives. E.coli is an example of a Gram negative. Some bacteria do not have cell walls that stain or have no cell walls at all, so are not classified as gram positive or negative. Examples of these are acid-fast staining mycobacterium (tuberculosis family). I will add more later.

Coccidiosis:
Lols just thought I should add some vettiness.

Respiratory Infections
There are many different types of respiratory infections and problems. The treatment depends on what the problem is. Mites can also live in the air sacs too. Respiratory infections can be caused by viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. Viruses often infect the animal first and damage the lining of the airways allowing bacteria to take up a secondary infection and cause pneumonia and other problems. Respiratory infections can spread to the pneumatic bones as these are connected with the air sacs. Unfortunately I have not done much in the area of respiratory infections in birds yet.

Roundworm
It is better to give each individual a dose of wormer rather than putting it in their water. Ivermectin is not soluble in water and will settle on the bottom of the container. You also cannot ensure each bird has the required dose and some will not drink at all.
