Yes, like MB said the higher the temperature in your tank, the lower the level of dissolved oxygen. It also increases the fish'es metabolism. haha. Yeah I feed my goldfish peas. Just remember to shell them first. Lol at "air sack" I think you mean gas bladder . What happens with goldfish is they eat lots (more than they need) so their intestines become full of food, which pushes on their gas bladder and makes them go wobbly. Gas can also build up too. It helps to moisten their food before hand and then they are happy. Also is good to swap foods, so they get a varied diet. I feed mine just pellets and peas at the moment. (need to buy flakes) You know what I think is awesome? That when fish are itchy they will scratch themselves on the surface of the water and thus show their bellies to you. So if your fish are flashing, they are itchy and probably have some skin parasite or infection. I have two Comets. I like the more natural look. While I think the others are kinda cute, I feel a bit mean for them. The squashed up ones also tend to get more gas bladder problems too. You can also feed cucumber and bloodworm !

Actually girls are the default sex. If there is no testosterone supply in pregnancy all foetuses (even one with Y chromosomes) will revert to the female body. That is why you can get some women who are genetically male, but are physically pure woman. Maesie, I heard that theory, but the other way round. No undies means colder bits so therefore boy sperms. Warmer bits means girl sperms. Apparently the Croc hunter used that method to conceive his son. Wonder which way round it is?

That is so ridiculous. Beaurocracy!!! Good on you for not going. It's like when our school decided that all students should wear "rugged shark" shoes ($150 a pair) as the new uniform code. I was soooo mad. Not all people can afford that sort of thing and it is sort of saying you HAVE to pay $150 for another pair of shoes when you have a perfectly good pair. So I wore my "cheap" pair to school and was prepared to have a go at them if they even looked at my shoes wrong! Grrr, sometimes schools don't care about the families and only care about their image.

It is a good idea to take the poop off of the eggs if you can, as bacteria can enter the eggshell and cause dead in shell chicks. However tf it is too hard to do, don't worry. Just wash it in warm clean water to soften the poop (don't use cold water, use body temperature). Otherwise, they look okay

Aw, poor Kimy. You are doing such a good job, in looking after her and making sure she feels happy. I think once she has grieved for Gina you could consider another piggy then. But for now I think lots of hugs and carrots. Our horse just died yesterday morning and now his paddock mate is lonely. We are hoping to get another horse to come in and graze with her to keep her company. Poor girl, the sheep are keeping her company for now. It was very sad, because she knew as soon as the vet walked towards his car, she knew what was happening and ran off, galloped around the property and stayed at the other end of the property, running around and fretting. I'd never seen her like that. Before that, she kept him company right up until the vet went to get the injection. She settled down after awhile and went over to pay her final respects, then she walked away. She knows he is gone and seems to have accepted it. So I can definitely sympathise with you and poor little Kimy. Hugs, cuddles, carrots and grass.

Make sure you mention to the doctor that you keep birds and could have psittacosis too. Because a lot of doctors don't think about it.

What about the nitrite and nitrate levels? When you put lots of fish into a new system, too much nitrite/nitrate (can never remember which one) is produced and this pollutes the water. This is why it is best to start off with only a few fish as the nitrite levels build up slower and you should be able to remove enough in the next water change to keep them healthy. This is what happened with my fish. I had 2 goldfish and lost one 2 weeks later due to nitrate levels increasing (I got the water tested). The way to fix this is do a water change a little more frequently. The levels stabilise once your tank has cycled and the appropriate bacteria has colonised the the filters and gravel. Unfortunately the nitrogen ammonia cycle doesn't start until you add fish to your tank. So you can reduce this by adding less fish and by taking some gravel from the old tank. As your tank cycles and matures you can add more fish.

They are very cute. He probably doesn't want to use his leg, because it hurts so much. Humans take 6-8 weeks to heal bones, so i would imagine it would be closer to that.

You should also have all nestboxes at the same level too, or else the hens will fight for the highest nest box

Double hugs. You can bathe them in the bathroom sink. Hold their head out of the water. Wash them using cat shampoo. (It is made nontoxic, because cats lick themselves). Make it warm water and test the temperature with your elbow. You bathe them by pouring the water over their bodies. Don't get their heads wet. Then you can ruffle them in a towel or use a hairdryer (on lowest setting and continue to keep the hairdryer moving, so you don't burn it). Best to do this on a warm day.

That sounds very unfair, especially to pay for your children who are in the play. That is like the school going "Well we have 105 children in the concert, that's 12 dollars each, so that's $1260 ensured!!" That's not fair. They are sorta charging you and your kids for putting all that hard work in. With out the children and parents helping they wouldn't have a concert. That made me grumpy. Well baby will be much more docile for her to deal with. Because Kimy is a girl piggie, it probably won't matter what sex you get. I would get a girl, because then you don't have to worry about babies (and the problems that an older sow would have having them) or neutering. While baby is in quarantine it will grow bigger, so won't get bullied so easily and then introduce them slowly. Introduce them in a neutral place (neither of their hutches). Then put their cages next to each other, leave it like that, and then put Kimy in baby's place for a bit and then when they are ready to be moved in together, clean out the big hutch and put them in it. When they first meet, it is a good idea to give them both a bath or put some non toxic perfume on them, so they both smell different
