Loud noises
I dunno Bea, my vaccum is really noisy and my birds shout at me everytime I use it but they arent scared. I would definitely cover them though.

Freshen the Air
I have six birds and they are all in the same room and they dont smell at all - in fact they smell beautiful hehe. I would just like a nice fresh smelling room though.

Freshen the Air
How about what Kim and Aggie in How Clean is Your House use. They use bicarbonate of soda mixed with water and lemon juice and spray in a mister - its meant to neutralise odours. I might give it a go!

cuttlle fish

cuttlle fish
I dunno Lin I suppose I could scrape a bit off and see - I like bananas hehe. No Sky they dont go off - my birds are very messy and tend to get dried food stuck to them and LOTS of poop, I have a lot of budgie to clean everyday and dont mess about soaking things like that, lazy but I have 3 cages to clean out everyday, so I tend not to do the picky things!

Tomatos & Asparagus
Just wondering if any of the above would be okay to feed. I grow my own tomatos in the garden and Ive some lovely cherry ones ripe now plus they are obviously organic. Asparagus I think Ive read somewhere its okay, just wanted opinions please!

poor peanut
If you can get him to one that would be great - I know your vet is good with them but he/she might have missed on some other way something can be done and we have to give this little guy as much chance as we can eh?

poor peanut
Me neither knows anything about these - do they really have to operate, couldnt they freeze it away, I guess the vet would have suggested that so maybe they cant. If it was me I would leave it if its not bothering him and not infected but I guess if it did become infected and the only way was to operate I think I would have to do it, only because the infection would cause much worse problems and he would probably suffer more then, at least this way your at least giving him the chance to get rid of it. Am praying for the little feather ball!

Variety is the spice of life
Seems we have a few fattys eh. My Candy is 20g overweight and has started his diet. I am only feeding him, 1 pot of seed half full, 1 pot of dried egg mix half full, as from tonight a small portion of pellets, along with apple, spinach, carrot and broccoli, nothing else. I bring him out and make him fly 3 times around the room with a breather in between. This I will continue to do for a whole month to see how he gets on and then go from there I guess. As everyone else I am all for other suggestions though.

My Candy
Me too Lin I have to ring back at 3pm to speak, I am mainly concerned about the green poop, it was still like that this morning not runny as I have previously shown, but like I said he isnt lethargic and depressed which was 2 main factors so I am keeping positive. Im hoping I dont have to take him in and maybe I could just drop a poop sample off tomorrow depending on what he says. I think I stressed him out enough yesterday.

Don't kiss your budgie.

My Candy
Remember a few weeks ago I posted about Candys poop being green well Ive just read up on this disease hepatic lipidosis and one of the signs is green poop. I really think he might have it, it also says about having fatty deposits on the upper tummy and abdomen making them look chunky and being out of breath easily. Am getting worried now.

Don't kiss your budgie.
Yeah and I would say something wasnt just quite right if you were kissing your budgie the way I think that fact mean hmmm!

My Candy
Aww he dont hate you Julie he hates me right now for weighing him and making him eat yukky food. But he will thank us in the end when he is flying all over enjoying playtime with the others. If it had been any of the others they woldnt have been tame enough to weigh - I wonder how the vets weighs them? None of mine have been weighed by a vet.
