If this was a forum that mainly discussed breeding and showing i would not be here, i almost didn't join when i first found it because i thought "wait, i'm after pet advice not breeding advice" but then i stopped, looked and realised only a small section was about breeding and the larger portion is about pets. It's not fair to say that because the forum was set up by a breeder about breeding that nobody here can be against it, and not sure what the "ill informed information on health, longevity and well being" is but i'm with Terri on this, she's brought up excellent points and i don't think you should be having a dig at her for being anti-breeding on a "Show Budgie Club forum".

This is a follow up on "Blinkie's Girlfriend", decided to let Zee, Jen and Dom out with Blink, Oz and Cook this arvo. :ausb: Had lots of fun, however Blinkie got tired of flirting with the babies and so he started flirting with his reflection again, (Laughing out loud). But all up everyone had fun. Ozzie poofing himself up to look super handsome to the ladies Don't think they're impressed! Dom stays out of all this boy/girl stuff, he just sits and looks cute Jen does a cute pose too Blinkie can't pick a sister so he chooses both! Zee Birds galore Cookie Jen and Zee having a kiss Ozzie rather likes the look of Jen Ozzie rules the bunch Blinkie gets bored of his new company and goes back to looking at his super sexy reflection!

Yes it is two different worlds. You would really be horrified as to the difference if you knew what goes on in both. Now i'm curious, how could it be that massively different keeping and breeding show birds to pet birds?

I couldn't find Blinkie anywhere a little while ago, was just starting to feel really worried when i heard flirty noises coming from my bedroom. He was flirting with the lovely little grey ladies through the cage bars! Anyway, thought "i wonder how he would actually react to one" and got little Zee out. Let's just say i've never seen him so excited in all his life! All Zee wanted was for him to feed her, all he wanted was...well....*ahem*.... He had to make sure he was still sexy, don't think he understood why she was turning him down! Zee eventually got her way and got some tasty recycled food. And with Blinkie happy to sit on me, so was Zee. Couldn't keep them all together though. While Zee is out Ozzie's not allowed anywhere near them.

Using one of those meat hammers crossed my mind but i thought it would break my sandwich bag and i wanted all the pellets contained.

I was taking photos of Cookie tonight and thought i would take some new photos of Yahtzee, Jenga and Domino too. They really aren't tame anymore, (Laughing out loud). But they love hanging out together and waking me up early each morning. :(Laughing out loud): Yahtzee and Jenga spend all their time preening and feeding each other, it's really cute. Little Dom is the more quiet one, he likes playing with the toys in the cage, especially this shaggy rope one. They'll be going out to the aviary in a couple of weeks. I want the aviary budgies to have a week or so after treatment for trichomonias so i can watch for any sick ones before adding the babies. I think they'll be really happy to be out there with lots of other budgie friends to hang out with. Cookie will miss the company though, i think he likes having other birds in his room.

Cookie loves the fine as it is. I've been putting the amount for the budgies in a sandwich bag and then crushing it with a rolling pin, they eat it that way. Next time i might try to get superfine.

Got some Harrisons Pellets at the vet today. I asked for budgie ones and the reception lady gave me high potency fine, is this the right size? They look a little big but i know both Ozzie and Blinkie can eat them because they went for them as soon as i put them in the cage. Now they're over the excitement they don't seem so sure. Cookie loves them though. Next time i might try to get super fine.

Got some treatment for the aviary budgies, got the Harrisons too....more expensive than expected so hopefully Blinkie and Ozzie won't turn their beaks up at it.

Seems like it, she never seems to be in there when i'm watching and last week she wouldn't get off to let me see. :ausb: Nope, cause i took the other pair out as they had no eggs and i didn't think i should be breeding more budgies until i have treated my flock for trichomoniasis.
