I noticed the dye on my playgym runs too!! :(Laughing out loud): I've read lots of stories where people have paniced cause their budgie changed colour when infact they'd just rubbed against something dyed.

Check the ingredients list on the Kaytee. Lots of their products have ethoxyquin (or something similar to that spelling) which is really really bad for birds.

Like Daz said they should come with a tool for putting them on. And they'll chew and pull at it like crazy for a while but should get over it. :hap:

She looks over 6 months to me as she's had at least one moult. How much older than 6 months is difficult to say.

My friend and i were lying on the lounges in the living room the other day just watching Blinkie and Ozzie running around being birds. She commented on how funny they are and that you could sit amused watching them for hours - and she's not a bird person! It is really cool watching two budgies interact the way they're supposed to.

Yup! They hate it for sure!!!

I've bookmarked that link incase i ever need it, thanks! I keep telling Blinkie not to ever do that again cause he'll give his poor mummy a heart attack. He's eating and drinking now and he's as obsessed with his mirror as ever so i think he's over it.

Or even a quarter, i do suspect that he's got a show budgie somewhere in his background.

I have never been more terrified in my entire life!! Just a minute ago Blinkie was choking on a seed. He was walking around on his playgym eating seeds and then all of a sudden he started running around scared, making a horrid wheezing chirp and shaking, rubbing and scratching his head. I thought he was going to suffocate or something. He kept flying back and forth from me, his cage and his gym. He was in a panic. Then the seed must have gone down cause he settled down again and he just sat on my shoulder quietly. Now i know he's okay cause he went for a lap of the room visiting mum and doing his little happy dance and cheeky song. But my heart is still racing like mad. I want to know what i should do if that ever happens again! I felt so helpless and scared.

Blinkie once stuffed himself on a bad millet spray and vomitted a tiny bit. Only once though and nothing else changed.
