Has he been scratching a lot? I had a budgie with a sinus infection and it was always scratching at it's head and face making it's skin seem red. I agree with CheekyChucky, you'll need to see an avian vet tomorrow. In the meantime just keep him comfortable.
  2. Hmmm, what to do... Pfft...how about not hanging out with Mr Pinfeather-Head! Oh *sobs* i feel so unattractive Does everyone think i'm fat and ugly now - i thought Blinkie was my friend! I can't help if i'm moulting....hmph, why am i friends with Lord Sexy Blinks anyway? Eating will make everything better! Meanwhile the innocent sleeping Mickey has been disturbed. But it's not long before Blinks gets bored and goes to eat with Ozzie. Leaving Mickey to resume his peaceful sleep....on the lounge....where all dogs belong....*cough*
  3. :(Laughing out loud): That's so funny! I'm glad Blinkie hasn't thought to try that!
  4. That's really great to hear! :hap:
  5. :(Laughing out loud): Very cute!

I've always wondered about diet in a mixed species aviary? Different species have different seed mixes right? And different needs in terms of fat and protien, etc? So how does one get around this?

Nerwen and Lovey have given you good advice. I just want to check that you've removed the second picture? I changed both to links as they are over the board image size limit.

This is all really good info! :ausb: Thanks for taking the time to write it, it will be of great assistance to lots of people.

Mushy veggies are my worst enemy but my birds favourite snack. Yesterday i put a small dish on the kitchen table (i've learnt to keep veggie mash off carpeted areas) and Cookie was walking through it, taking MASSIVE beakfuls and then shaking the excess EVERYWHERE. I had to wipe the whole kitchen tables, some of the floor and the chairs. :ausb: Talk about a messy eater!!

I just have a quick question - i've been hanging gum leaves/other veggies from the roof of my cages and Blink, Oz and especially Cookie much prefer to eat veggies this way than in a bowl (90% of the time they wont look if it's in a bowl). Is this foraging? Cookie especially likes it as she doesn't play with toys, but when i hang stuff from the roof or weave it into the cage bars she spends the whole day shredding and eating it all!

It's a grey - the cheek patches are silvery blue. If it were mauve they'd be dark blue/violet. :ausb: They're very beautiful!
  13. I see no reason not to take him. If you've got a small travel cage he can be comfortable in during the car trip there should be no trouble. Plenty of people take their birds on holidays with them.

That's pretty accurate actually - Ozzie's off doing his own thing so when he does come over to sit on me i feel very honoured.

For all but the top two photos i was using the vivid setting which is why he's really bright colours. However looking through and about the 8th photo with him in front of the "new" sticker shows his colour pretty good!

Ooohhh! Game-name trio clones! They're looking GORGEOUS! I really should post new pics of your grey babies since they're in the aviary - they're growing up so fast!
  21. What i really want to know is where you've gotten the idea that you have the authority to tell people here what they can and can't do - it's not yours or anyones place unless someone is breaking a forum rule, even then it's the forum staff and not your job to right the error. Please do not post a "part 3" to your very rude and selfish opinions, in future just DON'T view posts/pictures you do not wish to see.
  22. How large was the aviary Sco-tie?
  23. Blink and Oz are scared of my xmas tree! :(Laughing out loud): But i remember that my first budgie Tweety LOVED hiding in the branches!! I think as long as you're supervising them and making sure they're not getting into trouble it would be fine.
  24. Isn't the yellow from the yf gene? Opaline and the wing markings would be blue and not grey.
  25. That little violet baby is gorgeous!! So is Luigi and Honey's little baby.
