If you are keeping these out in the open I suggest the nestbox has a slide door instead of hatch, You could also router 2 channels each side. first one you could have perspex window second channel you can have wood. so slide wood up you can check eggs. slide perspex up you can check young ones. other than that I like the cabinet. it looks like all mine except its just a individual.

Well now its been awhile. Skye's and Thunders eggs hatched. 2 healthy budgies that are getting fed. Camo and Sandys 1 has hatched. they weren't looking after the little thing and I found him in the corner of the nestbox cold. so he now has been adopted out to skye. its going well the little thing is being fed well by foster parents. 3 more eggs are sitting under camo and sandy. tilly is on her second round but her round before that was infertile.

Some eggs can be infertile. Usually the Hen will through these out once time has passed. A budgie of mine through all hers out the other day and is trying again.

if that Grey is past 7 years old he probably shooting blanks. You need to not Colony breed and test breed the same pair again.

discard the eggs. if the you wanna breed go have a read about then start breeding.

Yeah looks like they are all settled into there own nestboxes. no fights. This is my last time breeding this way. I will be away for 2 weeks so my family will be keeping a eye on them.

its also illegal to take these parakeets(budgerigars) from the wild. It is also illegal to export them even pet types.

good on you. good on your birds too. I have birds laying in the aviary at the moment. so far no fights over nest boxes. 3 have laid 4 more yet to lay in there chosen boxes.

yeah i would do what robyn has said next time round. As for colours pair 1, could be green normals and Opalines. thats only a guess. pair 2 who knows whats hidden there. pair 3 same as number 2. could be something hidden.

We have all seen them bird hammocks on ebay with their users selling them. How we know they are a hazzard waiting to happen. I got sick of them coming up in my search results and can see some ditsy person buying one of these thinking its cute only to come home and find a incident has occurred and her budgie is dead. So what we should do, report as traps. Send user a letter about the item.

snow flake is a Opaline spangle. I think Violet is a Double factor spangle with yellow suffusion. Maybe someone might know more.
