  1. Beautiful chicks Robyn (not that i would expect anything else ). I really love the second chick.
  2. Nadene replied to babychat's topic in Budgie Behaviour
Hi Babychat, Nerwen is right about the ring not the shop. The rings are colour coded with a particular year but they use the same colour every 6 years, so they have to have the year on them. There is a topic on the forum about ring colours http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=13461 I agree with Robyn to keep her away from your other birds. It might just stress from moving but i would keep an eye on her. Nadene

Hi and welcome to the forum. There is lots of wonderful info on here, and great people to help answer any questions. Nadene
  4. Finally a ivermectin product in Australia for birds. Avimec made by Vetafarm just released this month and even says it is for budgerigars on the bottle. I found it on ebay and then went to the vetafarm website to make sure it is a real product. The website also shows how to apply it using the dropper bottle. I just thought this might help the people who have trouble getting ivermectin from their vet.
  5. They are so cute. You must be very happy. Dads eye looks great.
  6. Hi Robyn, I don't know if this helps but I have a bird whos flight feathers were broken off (and some pulled out) by my dog and it took 4-6 months to grow them all back. He couldn't even fly and used to fall like a rock the poor little thing. I agree it doesn't sound like french moult that I have read about. I hope they grow back for him, he looks like a beautiful bird. Love that colour blue.
  7. That's amazing Phill, now can you come and do that in real life? HAHAHA and while you are at it bring me some of your beautiful birds you have on your website! (I'm only joking). You are very clever!!!

Hi budgies4life, at first it looks like it is posting the code in this box but it will post the picture. To make sure it is right just check it before you hit the post button. Good luck with the pictures
  9. Thank you Robyn. I was told by hubby if I got a bigger one I would have to live in it too (he hates the birds). My biggest problem with the door is I have to find a way to secure it from the inside when I'm in it. I will be having a lock. I'm lucky my kids don't like to touch them, but they do like to put seeded grass in so I will have to watch them.
  10. Hi everyone, Just thought i would post some photos of my new cage (it's a bit to small to call an aviary) that was delivered today maybe i should have got 2, one for the birds and one for the kids
  11. Thinking of you and mama. Hope everthing works out for you both. She looks like a fighter.
  12. I'm no expert, but he is probably trying to feed the other bird in the mirror. It is quite often said on this forum that mirrors are not good for budgies and should be taken out of their cages. If he is getting enough attention from people in the house (which it sounds like he is) he will be fine without the mirror or another budgie.
  13. Sorry to hear that Dillster. I was really looking foward to the photos.
  14. Hi Steve, I have been reading your post and I agree with Robyn, your hens will know what to do. People breed in colder climates than we have in Aus without heat. Plus I've had eggs go cold in warm weather because the inexperienced hen wouldn't sit on them, that's nature. Good luck I'm sure everything will turn out fine.Keep us posted. Don't let other people bring you down.
  15. Congratulations, she is absolutly beautiful.I'm glad everything went so well.
  16. Sorry to hear that Kaz.
  17. You are amazing Kaz , all credit too you for the effort you put in for your birds and not picking a path just because it is easier for you. I hope she learns to eat soon. She is SOOOO cute. I think you will have to stop going away. Hahahahah
  18. Thank you Robyn, the spangle was the one I originally went to buy but then I liked the hen (she does look better in real life and without the blood) and he gave me the other two. I hope all is well with your beautiful birds.
  19. Thanks Super Spangle. I bought them from a breeder in Campbelltown. I tried to pick ones I thought were okay because all I have been doing is reading up on types, this was my first time to see show birds up close. He didn't have many left and the best ones were sold.
  20. I picked up my first show budgies today. I am hoping they have some good qualities for breeding. Please let me know what you think my only hen (she got bitten in transport) They are in their quarantine cage
  21. Well done Robyn, you're very clever. Beautiful looking bird
  22. maybe i might start drinking chamomile tea Thanks Stace, I'll go and get them. I have heard of Dr Rob Marshalls products, I will look into those too. I have been putting him outside when it starts warming up each day. Even though he is away from the other birds he can hear and see them and is now starting to get excited to be out there. I'm taking that as a good sign
  23. That looks great Flip. That's one heavy duty grinder they have
  24. Great, thanks Kaz.
